At one stage the competition was looking like it was not going to be running with a team pulling out late in the piece, but with the competition will officially be going ahead with 4 fantastic teams, two of which brand new too the concept!

The teams are as follows:
Happy Valley Football Club;
Mount Lofty Football Club;
Flinders Park Football Club;
Sacred Heart Old Collegions.

As mentioned above the games begin on the 6th of Feb, with gates opening at 6PM and games at 8&9PM!
Admission is $2 and Bar and canteen facilities are available!

We hope to see as many supporters as we can packed into the ground to watch some awesome footy in preporation for a great season in 2009! Spread the word fellas and ladies! See you there!!!!

Hope you can help!!!!

90.1 FM i thinks its called great southern radio but you wont get it anywhere past mclaren vale and even then its pretty sketchy but it is pretty good from most other ground, they seem to cover a lot of compass and encounter bay games for some unknown reason :oops: :oops:

Can't see them broadcasting a comp with no sides anywhere near their area, but good luck if you want to give it a try.

Yeah
the first 8 or 10 sides to nominate get a gig
$1000 for the winner
I think it is a round robin type comp that goes all day

Here's some information on the South Adlaide competition as it appeared in the Victor Harbor Times last thursday:

FOOTBALL: Invitations have been extended to the 24 clubs that fall within the South Adelaide Football Club zone, which includes the 10 Great Southern Football League clubs, to participate in the South Coast Super 14s Pre-Season Carnival. To be conducted at Hickinbotham Oval, with finals to be played under the new lights, the round-robin competition is proposed to be held on Saturday, February 28. There are only eight positions available for the competition. All clubs will be guaranteed a minimum of three matches of 15 minute halves. There is no charge to enter a team and player and spectator entrance will be just $2 each or $5 per carload (including car) to assist in covering umpire, football and prize money costs. Competing clubs will be split up into randomly selected pools of four with the winner of each pool to progress to the final. Matches will be conducted every 40 minutes. Hickinbotham Oval is in fantastic condition. Canteen and bar facilities will be available along with ice and normal match day requirements. Prize money of $1000 will be awarded to the wining team with the runner-up to receive $500. Normal rules will apply except there will be a maximum 14 players on the field at one time, only three players allowed in the centre square for a centre bounce, out of bounds is a free kick awarded against the team that touched the ball last, maximum of two bounces per player before the ball is disposed of and straight 15 minutes halves (no time-on). If teams are equal on wins at the end of the pool matches, percentage will decide the winner. Only in the final will extra time be played if scores are level at the end of regular time and extra time will consist of two minutes each way with no half time break.
Registration closes once eight teams have confirmed their involvement or on February 6, whichever is first. Pool matches will then be drawn and notice along with carnival instruction and the running sheet will be forwarded onto all clubs involved. If you would like to register your team or would like further information please contact Ben Kavenagh on 8186 8200 or via
email at bkavenagh@safc.com.au
