How is that deceptive....no where does it say the premiership team or coach are A grade...or even seniors...

Honestly, what would your reaction be if it said "meet the U/14 2008 premiership team and coach and team????

If i had a son in the age bracket to play U14's id bring him down...or younger kids because they would look up to the kids above them...

And even U/16s because some of those premiership players would be going up this year.

At least someone gets it hh3.. that quote on the website is directly from flyers going to local schools...

Asert my understanding from certain people at brighton was that he wasn't interested in money and that he wanted to play for brighton with mates. I believe money of more amounts was offered last year by clubs but hr wanted to play for respected jumper. Yes they are payed in club dollars down the hill and it was done for that way for a reason (that being to keep numbers at the club Sat nights) but if you think some of the guns are not on good dollars you are wrong.
Hey assert who are you involved with?

I'm not sure how many off you get out to HVFC on a Friday Night for the 20-20 Competition but i highly recommend it to anyone who loves footy! Its a fabulous night out under lights with everything you could ask for as far as catering and all. Entry's $2 per adult with U/18 free and i tell you what its by far worth it for a great night of footy! Some review of the last two weeks games are in the 20-20 forum!
See you there! :D

Leg Rope wrote:pat walton will play limited games if any for flaggies as he is still based in canberra for the army, but yes his services would be valuable for them. heard he got offered alot of coin elsewhere but stayed loyal to flaggies, quite rare if you ask me, shows some character about him

This the same "Loyal" Pat Walton ex Reynella Junior who signed with Marion then when he got more coin at Flagstaff Hill signed with them?
The Army training must have created some loyalty and changed his character?????

Patty walton, did not sign with marion. Fidgey was desperate so sign some big fish. i think they gave McEntee 1000 to sign and 400 game while everyone else played for peanuts on win/loss. Patty had every intention of playing at marion (300 game) and hooking up with some old school mates and a buddy from south, and was living with one of those mates, however..... His best mate S Abbott is at flaggies obviously and i think is captain. so when flaggies came up with an offer that was Incentive based but close to the marion and Pt Noarlunga offer (400) he decided to play with Saul

Now i think the fact that he told cox he might be going to the army, played for less, and regularly was seen helping out Saul with the Juniors is a fair indication that he is not a bad bloke. That is all the facts, 1st hand. Make your own mind up from there. But he probably deserves a break

Asert I would think a $100-$150 a game plus vouchers would be good money across the top 8 players with maybe 1 or 2 players on more would be around the mark. Mate you may have heard different but players don't always tell what they are on. Also bomberland I was told a few years back when Walton left to goto the armed services that he offered all the money that was paid to him back to the club. If true tells you somethink about the bloke. I wouldn't think to many would do that. Anyhow bad luck to flaggies that he isn't staying would been a great player and leader for them.

Does everyone know about the price rise at the gate?

ENTRANCE FEE
From the 2009 season, finals series that admission fees for adults go from $6 to $8 and that Senior Citizen’s fees go from $3 to $4, and also Home & Away gates for clubs are increase from $4 to $5 for Adults & $3 for Pensioners from 10.00am to 3.00pm on match day – as per Board of Directors meeting minutes 29th September 2008.

Comments? Seeing SANFL gate is $10, I reckon $5 is a bit rich, particularly if you are an away player and you have to fork out to play!

Have seen/heard this and believe it to be correct.

Don't see why you should be paying to get in anyway for a local metropolitan game.

Gotta agree Matty, i think players should get into games for free
If the only reason you play is for a beer with your mates after the game, your playing for the wrong reasons !!

Asert not involved in a club at this time being but do have good mail that some are on good money that is paid on the side. But its not about what they are offered as some are worth it. It was about a bloke who took money from his mates 1 year then walks out the next. Are you involved with brighton or do you have good mates at the club. I thought you were a flaggies boy or have you moved camp?

This is getting out of control, try and find something cheap to do on the weekend with the family it's going to cost $19 for 2 adults and 3 kids just to get in to see a local game of footy then buy the kids something to eat and drink. Why not drop the entrance fee and make your money from the cantee, bbq and bar. Might get a bigger crowd?

Clubs have to pay the costs of putting teams on the field somehow. I do agree though that the players and coaches are putting on the show an should not have to pay to get in after all the majority are not getting paid to play but doing so for enjoyment.
