Is there any rules from the NAB Cup or the AFL in general that the SFL community would like to see brought into our game?

i rate the rushed behind rule and the bring the ball back for the poor ruck contest. our umps half the time cant even throw the ball straight up

The "9-pointer" is a great challenge, but I still wouldn't want it as pasrt of normal footy ------ makes the scores too complicated.

if you kick backwards in the defensive half then its play on..... i'd support that!

I don't really think that the kick backwards rule would really be appropriate. The rule was introduced to try and stop teams from wasting time which i dont think we even have to much of here. Correct me if im wrong! I agree with the rushed behind rule maybe becoming a part of the SFL but with a couple of amendments. Instead of the score not counting when the opposition team rushes a behind, count the score and also award the free kick. If the team misses the goals all together they are short changed a behind, but if they score a goal and also are awarded the behind the seven points could be a killer!

I personally dont think theres anything wrong with the rules as they stand. the games played at a fast pace, there arent that many rushed behinds, etc. The game plan in "amateur" footy (if i can call it that with so many people getting paid these days) isnt that bad. I dont think we'll be seeing many "rolling zones" or anything like that.

Yes i do agree with you HH3, you do put out a very valid point. Rolling zones etc aren't a problem in Amateur footy at the moment and if the problem ever arises then maybe these rules could be introduced to accommodate then.

Rolling zones and other types of gameplans will never be an issue within suburban competition seeing that AFL teams regulary stuff it up, cant see part time footballers specialising in it. Local footy is great and to be honest I prefer watching it over AFL the majority of the time. Infact I think the AFL could use rules they use locally such as send offs.....

At one stage there was talk of this becoming a rule in the AFL im not quite sure what happened??
But that would be a great idea!
