Shame Emus for appointing a person that has put the club in arguably the worst position in its history... if you are a true Emu you'll understand this decision is one that had to be made (albeit a bit later than most wanted) and now that it has the club WILL move forward from its darkest chapter...!!!

The club needed to make the call, the club should not be in the dark place it’s in and it has its former president to thank for it. New president, new focus on getting the club at the level it should be, it may take a couple of years to get out of the hole and we will be back to being competitive.

Best of luck Emus.The SFL need a strong Morphettvale and a strong Happy Valley, and Reynella for this comp to be STONG again .I don't want to go games where the result is over at half time. God knows how it can improve with neighboring leagues offering the money they are. Must be a lot of lolly bags being handed out after presos. The day of the loyal footballer is well and truly gone.!

Having a look from the outside at the current Morphett Vale situation .As far as on field as no idea what's going on off it.

In 2019;

1. Bayly x 2 return to play.
2. Couple of solid recruits or 1-2 ex players return.
3. Some of the old firm get 12-15 games into them this year compared to 4-7 last year - Byrne, Bennetts, Hill, etc.
4. Young lads exposed to A GRADE in 2018 hang around.

If above points happen the Emus could improve quite quickly on their results in 2018.

That’s not allowing for all other teams around them also improving... they are coming from a long way back, but if they have a longer term plan and stick to it, they will be fine.

Will the SFL need to embrace any of the proposed rule changes implemented in AFL and SANFL in 2019?
