Christ, I remember the days when the Noarlunga Footy club had to borrow from the Noarlunga Cricket Club which was run on chook raffles literally.
Times have changed.

Everyone always says noarlunga throw around heaps of money, but i know for a fact that other clubs spend a lot more on players than noarlunga.

Hopefully the shoes will be around the mark this year as they kinda dropped of the pace the last two years after 4 GF's in a row. Certainly have the best oval in the league down there.

Manhood to porties hey, should dominate this league.

Anyone got anything to say on these new coaches Bache and Burgman?

Wedgie,

I think Noarlunga has some good VIP sponsers these days, that kick in a bit of cash not to mention the Noarlunga hotel as their major sponsor i think.

I've known Norm Bergman for 18 years and he is a top bloke.
He was disappointed not getting the Porties job a few years back and left to McLaren as mentioned earlier and I might add he has been around the club on and off for 45 years and still doesn't have life membership at the footy club that so often hands them out too easily at times.
I'm sure Norm will be on the phone frequently attracting new players and will work hard to get the best for his footy club.
Some of you from footysa may of met him at a port v south game at noarlunga 2 years ago, I know Wedgie did and his alias was bergs.
A terrific appointment and I wish him all the best.

Cheers for the info qwerty, does Chris Vince still run the Noarlunga pub?
Always been a great sponsor of both the cricket and footy down there.
Agree 100% about the Mighty Shoe Park, I loved playing footy there.

Probably played more cricket than footy but only played a couple of Bs and 1 As game, so most of my cricket for the Shoes was at Hackhams South Primary School.

Both these players where chased by Noarlunga and told that they had signed at Flagstaff Hill
Dale Betterman is best mates with Cox
Tom Blum played for Encounter Bay and had talks with a number of clubs has a few mates from Glenelg under 19s playing there and signed only as late as Tuesday night

Wedgie,

Yeah Vincie still owns the pub down there and is definatley a good sponsor. Hear he is looking at putting in a beer garden down there soon and i must add it is also a good watering hole.

The oval is in top nick down there also drove past the other night and it looks awsome!

Wouldn't suprise me if the Bettermans did go to flaggies as they usually go with Cox.

Hear also that morphett vale have lsot a few this year so there may be a few teams all around the mark this year.

Good to hear qwerty, Chris is a top bloke and always looked after us, great pub, loved drinking there as it was like a country pub, a beer garden there will be awesome!

The ground at Noarlunga has been immaculate for about 7 years now, put a few teams in higher profile comps to shame.
