Those teams playing in the Saturday competition, with only a Saturday side, that get thrashed week in and week out, would be better off playing on Sunday's, to make for a better competition for both players and supporters.
Does anyone else agree with me or have any comments.

Disagree Pig Hunter,
Our 14 side is made up of 1st year 14s and has been more than competative this year.
Also the concept of 5 sides on a Sat should never be tampered with as I believe it to be the strength of our comp.

think youll find every team has very few 2nd year 14s due to their birthdays. we have 5 2nd year 14s and will be about the same next year if we keep the same crop. depends when they are born but alot of kids do 5 or 6 terms of reception so when playing 6/7s they are a bit older than the rest but get 1 year 14s

Its a good point Pig Hunter and for those clubs who can't field a full compliment of juniors it could be a better option if they can squeeze together an Under 14 or Under 16 team. Our Sunday Under 14 teams since the inception of the comp have been quite talented but still woudn't challenge the top 4 or 5 Saturday Under 14 teams.

Down the Hill wrote:Hey Vics, isn't the current C grade comp disassociating from the rest of the club as well. I could call you a hypocrite but I won't. The disassociation for those players and parents you refer to would be based on the majority of the club playing on the Saturday. So your presenting opposite arguments. You miss the point with 2 divs. Why shouldn't Hackham, Morphy Park, Lonsdale or Aldinga have a choice where they play their under 14 or 16's if it means being more competitive rather than get pumped most Saturday mornings and go home before the seniors play anyway. Some of these clubs may have a better chance of fielding junior teams on a Sunday as a continuation of their Minis. These clubs haven't had the 5 game Saturday club spirit thing for years so they have to have a vehicle to start somewhere. I think you will find that Morphy Parks were going to be allowed to field their juniors in the Sunday comp if they were able to come up with the numbers. We are only talking of an option for 3 or 4 clubs and not enough to justify your 2 division argument and completely alienate the juniors at clubs who have solid juniors but currently struggling a bit at seniors.

Not that hard? Under 14s is the turning point for kids to play on. Some kids have to have two years in 14s from school footy to prepare for under 16s. Big jump for some small jump for others.

Yes Big Puss i have seen them play and they in my opinion are ordinary under pressure i have seen them play twice this year against Noarlunga were they only just scraped over the line by 4pts from memory. And the other against our u/14s Hallett Cove were we beat them buy 5pts. Although the scores in the paper glorify them immensely. I believe they can be beaten if caught on a bad day. But on the other hand i have heard Flagstaff Hill are the side to be careful of. So we will wait and see my prediction Cove and Flagstaff Grand final.
