I think we all agree that we play for premierships!

To win a Mail Medal is a nice individual touch and something that years down the track you can look back on and remember a great individual season. Its something that cant be taken away but i know if it came down to a choice i know which medal i would prefer, a premiership medal.

Good luck to the 6 (its kind of disappointing the way they invite the top 6 rather than a top 2/3 from each club).

Does Great Southern have the junior and senior presentations together?

Most of the seats at the SFL presentations are taken up with the kids. Apparently a split into seperate junior and senior nights is being considered, would mean more space for the seniors and maybe the top 2 or 3 from each club could fit in.

my question to all the forum users is-would you prefer a mail medal at a-grade level(not being assured of a gf win),or would u prefer a best on ground medal in an a-grade grand final which helps youre side win the gf.
me,id take the b.o.g in gf any day.

I think they are really on two different levels. I would defnately love the bog on a grand final win - that is what u strive to get for the year and to play a major part in it would be extremely satisfying. The Mail medal is an individual award for best player over the WHOLE year for the association. I can see where your coming from with the question and I think most would say BOG GF. But again not really the same reasons behind the awards.

Yeah no-one cares about a Brownlow.
Tell me who won the players MVP in 1997 or say 2001 or 2006.
Off the top of your head you couldn't name them because NO -ONE CARES.
Brownlow (or Mail Medal) is the pinnacle of individual achievement. Full stop.

many thing mean differently to all so what ever on this one but i must say that if a medal make you feel more apart of the game then your not playing for the write reasons we welcome individual accolades but in the end it dont make a great team mate nor a great bloke and this should be the reason for playing this great game Aussie rules rock on all who love

Mr juicy i'm with you they are to different to compare. What i will say is about indavidual awards is that they don't happen without your teammates assistance. But it is good to award the player who has that little bit on the rest of them.

I've done the maths boys (very technical stuff, so don't ask!) and i'm going with Nathan Bayly to beat Todd Johnstone by a couple of votes.
The only time i've ever been wrong...was when I thought I was wrong!!!

Just a question to see if anyone knows how the champion club of the year is worked out???????

Reynella got the club of the year for 2009 for the overall success of every team in every grade at the end of the minor round
just a quick comparison (in which you would think the senior grades would be weighted slightly higher) but none the less here goes

................MVFC............Reynella
A grade........1 ..................4
B grade........1 .................6
C grade........1 ...............no team
U18s ...........5 ............... 4
U16s ...........2 ................ 5
U16 Sun.......6 ................ 3
U14s ...........6 ................. 2
U14 Sun.......6 ................ 5

7 teams from each side participated in finals.
Clearly morphett vale finished higher in most grades espicially senior.
Can anyone come up with a logical explanation or formula that explains this.
May sound like sour grapes but am just curious because I cannot work this out.

I guess it could be worse Port elliot could have won it apparently they play in the "SOUTHERN FOOTABLL LEAGUE" now.

Also a big congrats to Paul Hayford for his C grade medal.
Beat the whites of eggs with a pinch of salt until stiff...Continue beating, gradually adding sugar, vinegar and vanilla, until of thick consistency.
