Anyone from Flaggies with an update on the C grade player that went down yesterday, one of the sweetest (and fair) bumps you'll ever see and the poor bloke did not look good, here's hoping all is OK.

From the Flaggy Newsletter -

THANK YOU
I received a very much appreciated email this week
from Martin Hall, dad to Matt, one of our U18 players
who played in the C’s last weekend.
Matt was involved in a footy collision with one of
the opposition players that for a while looked very
nasty with concerns for Matt’s neck.
Martin wanted to thank Chrissy Mundy (our first
year trainer) for the fantastic and very professional
care she gave to Matt. An ambulance was called
for Matt and the Ambulance Officers were high in
their praise for the care Chris had given which may
have prevented a more serious injury.
As it turned out Matt was “relatively” okay with a
nasty concussion and bruising to the face.
Martin was also very grateful for the care shown by
Darren Collins (C Grade coach) and Craig Burfitt
(U18 coach) who were in constant contact showing
concern and offering support.

This is totally unauthorised, and I'm posting on my behalf and not from the FHFC committee, but just thought I'd cast out the line in case there's some good footy person out there who would like to get involved in our great club :)

From our recent FHFC news (apologies about the short time-frame !) -

"This still leaves the following coaching positions vacant for 2014:
* B Grade
* Sat U16
* Sat U14
* Sun U14
* There may also be a Sun U16 position necessary although there wasn’t a competition in that grade this year. We’ll leave this for now.

So today I’m formally calling on registrations of interest in the above 4 positions.
From informal discussions we have already had I know that there are quite a few people within the Club and some people outside the Club who are potentially interested in these roles. I don’t believe we will be short on applicants or talent, which is a great position to be in, although obviously it will make decisions hard for the selection panel.

If you are interested in any of these roles please email me before next Friday 25th October at brett@charlesworthnuts.com.au "

Flagstaff Hill Football Club position vacant for 2014:
* B Grade Coach*

Current SFL B grade premiers and with back to back Under 18 premiership players filtering through, this is a huge opportunity.

FHFC are still calling for registrations of interest for the B Grade coaching position.
From meetings we have already had, I know that there are quite a few people within the Club who are interested. But we are still seeking interest/applications from people outside the club who are keen to fill this role.

If you are interested please call Rod Mitchell on 0427 580 219
OR
Email Brett Charlesworth at brett@charlesworthnuts.com.au

EDIT- this position has been filled. Cheers!

Flagstaff Hill have our Player Registration Day, incorporating Family Fun Day today (Sunday 9th)
Well done to the organisers for taking into consideration the heat at this time of year, so beginning at 3pm though to 7pm.

PLAYER REGISTRATION - ALL players need to register

We need as many Senior, Junior and Sub Junior players to register on the day as possible so we have a clearer idea on committed player numbers which is essential for planning team numbers.

We’ll have plenty of people on hand to step you through the process and answer any questions.
Lots of Fun and Food is planned for the day as well. It’s forecast to be 31 degrees on Sunday, which sounds about perfect.

Activities on the day include…

Bull Riding (with some great prizes)
Jumpy Castle
Face Painting
Dunking Machine
Mouthguards professionally fitted
Wine Tasting
Falconettes lounge
Barbecue, canteen and bar all open
Merchandise orders
and all the general Club information you need

Plus our Senior Players will be training from 2.30pm to 3.30pm if anyone or the kids want to come and watch.

From President Brett Charlesworth's email to club members:
"Wade has been at the FHFC for 27 consecutive years. Not only has he played 400 games he has also volunteered thousands of hours of his time in many on and off field roles. He is currently an Assistant Sub Junior Coach as well as the C Grade Coach.

On behalf of Wade I am inviting EVERYONE associated with our Football Club…PAST & PRESENT to be there and form a guard of honour at 12.30 when he runs onto the ground.
There are many activities planned for Wade during the day and at presentations that night but the thing that would mean the most to him is to have a record crowd at the Oval for his record game, to acknowledge him as he runs onto the ground through the banner with his boys and with his proud family watching.

FREE ENTRY…To help get the biggest crowd we can we are offering Free Entry into the Oval between 11.30am and 12.30pm this Saturday

PAST PLAYERS…this is the one game of the year you have to be there. Most of you have played with Wade at some point in your careers"

I don't know the bloke, but 400 games is a bloody HUGE achievement. Which should be celebrated. I wish him and the club all the best for Saturday. Good people like that are hard to come by. Congrats again, I hope the day is a huge success, and the boys get a win for him. It really is a massive milestone.

It's that time of year again, the traditional Falconians Luncheon is nearly upon us.

On Saturday 30 May (1pm-5pm), as our boys take on the emus , the Falconians will be congregating for their annual luncheon on the Hill.

Under the comfort of the club marquees; members will enjoy a gourmet feed, quality company, raffles, first goal kicker sweeps, and ice cold beer.

For those yet to register this year, it is not too late. Contact the club on Facebook, via email, or in person at the club over the next two weeks or you can sign up on the day. However, if you would like your merchandise ready on the day, please make contact ASAP.

See you all on the 30th and Go Falcons.

2017 B Grade Coach

Due to a change in personal circumstances and an increase in work commitments Graham Tonkins is unable to commit to the B grade role in 2017 and we are currently seeking his replacement.

This is an exciting position to guide a great bunch of hungry players looking to take those final steps towards a premiership.

Please indicate your interest initially by contacting our Premiership A Grade coach Rod Mitchell on 0427580219.

Thanks from all of us at FHFC to Graham Tomkins for all his support to the coaching team, support staff and senior playing group at Flaggies in the past and we look forward to seeing him at the footy in the future.

Cheers,

MatteeG (on behalf of FHFC)

FLAGSTAFF HILL FC are looking for help please.

1. FHFC and Goodwood Saints have a trial Saturday March 18, but have not been able to secure an oval for the day (cricket still has rights at the hill). If your club has a free oval on March 18 and are willing to help these two clubs, it would be greatly appreciated. It is a full day of trials including juniors and seniors, so we would be looking to use the oval from 8am-5pm.

2. FHFC had a trial locked in with Blackwood for all grades on April 1, but due to a change in the HFL fixture, Blackwood are no longer available. If you are still looking for a trial for your club on this day, please let us know.

If you can help out with an oval on March 18, or are after a trial on April 1, please contact FHFC's Senior Football Director, Bill Matheson, on 0427 161 544 or BMatheson@sipcam.com.au
