Cleaning boots?

Postby shoe boy » Wed Nov 11, 2009 12:54 pm

Sick to death of lads after training or games that lean against the wall and bang their boots as to rid the mud.

Not only leaves a mess on the floor but also marks the wall where this occurs.

Any ideas that your club does or have seen a good idea?

Train bare feet, shoe boy
Maybe don't train when it is wet
Make a track down to the river and they can wash them there

HAHA nice one Yetti...

I have seen boot cleaning brushmats tho... basically 3 pieces of wood with stiff bristles coming out to remove the loose mud and grass as u rub ur boots over them.. they had them at South Adelaide at my stint there. I dont know if they were available commercially, or were made by the groundsmen there for the same reason as Shoe Boy mentioned... maybe google it and see if any companies make em???

we have a one outside each of the change rooms. not only does it keep the mess out of the change rooms, it is usually in the one spot and easier to clean up :D

maybe construct a brick wall along the edge of the oval for the boys to bang their boots on- see Norwood Oval for ideas.
