Settle down kiddies!
It was a great hit out for both.
Adelaide Uni were very strong though and ran over the top of us.
With 5 minutes to go in last quarter, two players got into a scuffle.
Nothing serious, just a push and shove, so our vice president who was 20 metres away, and a few beers down, made a quick decision to call it off.
Apart from that it was fine.
Let's get some facts right... Sweendog & DILLIGAF don't throw stones in a glass house, we all know what happened last year.
and A B E 2... that 16yo kid got out very lucky! If i carried on the way he did when I was 16, i would've had a Mal Lee or Draper put me in hospital.
For the record, the Adelaide Uni player involved in the scuffle was ex-Marion player Richie Ray-Zwar...
Congrats Jimmy McEntee on the lazy 6 and wrapped in cotton wool last quarter!

Geez I'll have half a pound of whatever you're on fella!

What's your problem, just reporting the result, maybe you misread it, Marion got flogged, so you go and have half a pound of something strong.

Marion disgraced themselves apparently starting a fight and the game was called off during the 3rd quarter

I have to defend ourselves.
Obviously you weren't there judging from your post.
Worry about your own backyard champ.
You just look stupid when you try to break news when you weren't even there.
Think about it...

At least we didn't throw king hits behind play before the first bounce mate.
YOU are the most undisciplined team i have ever seen.

Or just don't throw stones?

I personally wasn't fighting, and yes i agree you shouldn't be fighting in trials...
Bad move on those involved IMO as it takes two to fight but let's move on.

the uni player you talked to must be a reliable source :? there was a little altercation nothing id call close to serious. and the only reason it was called off was because as said previously the vice pres was close by goal umpiring and the umpire being a past player decided "whats the point with 1 min to go" so they called it.

bit rich some blokes beating their chest on here. def seen more undiciplined teams out there.

but good hit out for sure. adelaide uni will be div 1 next year id say. from what ive seen

As an AUFC player, I can assure all the sceptics that it was just a little push and shove between two old team mates who still haven't agreed on who owes who the pot from a poker night.

For what it's worth we had a good day, were well looked after by the Marion FC and would have absolutely no problem if our hierarchy invited them to our ground next year for the return bout (pardon the pun) or had another visit to their ground.

ps For the record it was at about the 28th/29th minute of the last quarter, not the 3rd as someone has suggested

Went down to Sth Adelaide satday, first mess cup ive been to and if that game was anything to go by, ive been missing out on some good footy. Being from SFL, i can now understand the success willunga have been having. Amazing skills for march and can only imagine them getting better. Good luck to the rest of the GSFL. MV controlled a lot of play early but were exactly the opposite to willunga with poor skills turning the ball over. Eventually found someone to kick straight and then MV looked like winning by 5 goals before willunga came again. Great game played in great spirit and both sides will be hard to beat this year i would imagine.
