I personally like to play teams from other leagues. Its the only time you can do it. Plus for teams like Hackham, its a good way of guaging where we're at in comparison to the SAAFL divisions.
In 2008 our coach at the time (wanker) made us play Flinders Park. They were Div 3 (ended up winning As and Bs GFs that year) and we got belted by 25 goals. We also played Macclesfield and lost by a goal or two.
In 2009 we played Adelaide Unis Div 7 side and won the A grade comfortably...but both teams had players that played 6 qtrs...so not really a good reflection of how good either team was.
It would be good to get something going with Adelaide Uni to have a preseason game every year. Last years game was played in great spirits on both sides...and the umpiring was awesome, because it was the Div 3 sides players umpiring...great game.

Flaggies have 2 confirmed. Playing Loxton (away) March 20th, and Ironbank (home) 27th March.
By the way the oval is looking sensational. Council did some work starting week of the grand final re an underground irrigation system.
No signs of the old "Pig Park" these days people

you guys actually played more of c2 sides down than the c grade - there were about 5 div 7 players - but thought the game was played in good spirits and it was tiring playing more than four quarters.

Have you considered playing a country team? They are always a good day, especially if you do a road trip on the bus and all stay the night. The country clubs always put a show on and all the boys have a good night. Good team bonding session.

Yeah i played the first 3, threw my guts up next to the tennis courts, then played the next 3...the hackham team that played that game was pretty much totally different to the one that played through the season...a lot left...and a lot came..

Any SFL clubs available for a trial on 6 March vs the Brighton Bombers. We don't have access to Brighton Oval but we have booked OSB/Lonsdale Oval for this date if we require it. Happy to play at your ground if available.
Previous plan for that date has fallen through but we are still keen for a 3rd trial to go with our trials on 14 & 21 March prior to our first match for points on 27 March.
PM me if interested.
