POLL:- Who will be Premiers in 2010 ?

Postby Bag The Points » Wed Jul 07, 2010 5:57 pm

Whose going to take it out ? Are the Bombers unstoppable ? Can Reynella bounce back ? Are the multi-champions just licking their fingers and waiting to lower the boom in September ?
Poll also gives an option if you don't think any of the trio will win. Feel free to elaborate on your alternative with a post

If Howes is the man in question but they may need to act fast as a former club is eyeing him off as head coach for 2011

I thought Cove may have still warranted being listed rather than being included with the others. They still have a heap of blokes from their 2008 Premiership team and if they click into gear come September they are still a threat. Last year not much went right for them but they only got knocked out the finals in extra-time (from memory) by Reynella and Reynella made the GF. They were very impressive in their 2 goal loss to the Bombers at Brighton a few weeks back. They still have a bit of work to guarantee top 4, but assuming they secure the double chance they will be one to look out for.

Wondered if I should include Cove (and maybe the Valley) but really wanted to gage which of the top trio was seen as favourites at this time. There is no way Cove would actually end up favourites.
However, interesting to see that unless the Valley boys have come on, Cove seem to be outscoring Morphett Vale considerably.

Thought I'd better reveal who I've gone for ---- Brighton (got a hunch they are going to go through unbeaten).

Beat the whites of eggs with a pinch of salt until stiff...Continue beating, gradually adding sugar, vinegar and vanilla, until of thick consistency.

Morphett Vale to win it. If they don't Hackham should wrap it up.

I think the GF will be between Reynella and Brighton and it will be a flip of the coin on the day as to who wins.

Morphett Vale still a contender. They know what needs to be done in September and will be confident when they get a shot at Reynella or Brighton on prelim final day.

Cove not quite up to it this year but still a threat in September.

The rest are pretenders and no threat.

That's what's surprised me ---- I thought the Morphett vote would be a lot higher than it is.

after playing all the premiership contenders I'm going to say reynella to win vs emus in gf.
Happy valley are a darky.
Brighton don't play footy that would stand up to finals pressure.
If they don't get first to footy to supply their runners they fall apart.
And reynella have better ruck as no one really can swap with brookman.

Interesting observation WLF. I didn't see too much falling apart on Saturday. Yes, the lads struggled with a strong wind in the 3rd quarter trying to overcome an 18 man defensive flood from the Rams but a 9 goal last qtr into the strong breeze was some pretty good footy. We never enjoy playing at the Trots and after having the match sewn up at qtr time I think the Brighton boys put the cue in the rack went through the motions for the middle part of the game

Don't get me wrong, Brighton are a classier side than Marion.

I believe it was fitness that let us down, and just a bit of polish in front of the sticks.
Whereas against other top4 sides, not only were we beaten to the ball, we were beaten in the 50-50, where i think we matched Brighton for a large part of the game.

But this thread isn't how much better Brighton are than Marion, just my opinion who I think will be premiers in 2010.

Also, I would hardly call one player loose behind the ball into a gale a flood.

Good luck in 2010 DTH :)
