LGIL, is this more of a case of having a stand out player reaping most of the votes through the year during the wins?

Ryan being captain would assist in his relation with the umpires but he has played some good footy, he hasn't particularly stood out in the wins, rather played consistant footy over the year.
I am thinking he has probably picked up a few 1s and 2s in some of the losses. His dreadlocks probably don't harm him either
It is great recognition for a very fair and committed footballer who has led from the front all season. I was surprised when he was not considered for the Association squad, especially as he had previously played in winning SAAFL sides against the SFL.
Has been a great recruit for us.
Only 4 invites!!! You kidding me! Wow the suspense on what player may win it from what club will be riveting......
Previous years have had a top 6 invited which is a farce also. For christs sake make it interesting and invite the top 2 or 3 votgetters from EVERY club and have a bit of wonder and fascination about it. Most or all other leagues invite a lot more, why does the SFL do it this pathetic boring way!!!!!

The reason is because the SFL are amateur hour a bit like fred and barney
