A classy individual, who will be missed
Where's Bill? Yeah... Hmm... Bill is on the Villa Quatro, on the road to Salina. I will draw you a map.

Very sad news indeed. I didn't know him well but what I did see was very impressive and I know he was always willing to help other clubs as much as his own. Condolences to his family and friends, and to the Morphettville Park Football Club. A sad loss to our whole football community.

I hear the president is looking to step down at the end of the year.

Disappointing for the club? I thought he has done a great job over the years he has been there.

He has done a great job Roo Ted.
As has his tiny wife behind the jump.
I hear he is planning on going out with a bang this saturday at the AFL GF show.
Looking forward to that little show.
Might even join in and back him up if anyone wants a shot ;)

Troy Rosser yeah ?

Good bloke and if that's the case good luck to him. Had a few dealings with him in regard to Auskick etc, and he was always a great help, who promoted the Twisties at any chance.
The joy of being on the hill drinking beer cannot be understated

Any reason(s) for him, if he does, standing down?

Lack of help, success, family committments

Wouldn't say he has had a lack of help there Rooey.
Maybe it's because his old mate Dognuts is leaving, maybe it's because he has achieved as much as he thought he could together with some committee members. maybe it's because i told him to give it up for the sake of his sanity & if he didn't i would belt him.
All i know is that he has put countless hours into the job, and unfortunately for Troy, he wears his heart on his sleeve too often and says what everyone is thinking, yet are too gutless to say.
He will go down as the President that oversaw a side to never reach the heights we wanted to rather than the President that took our club from nearly 30k in debt and about to fold to in the black comfortably in 5 years.
Yes i am one of his very best mates, and that is why i would rather see him happy at the bar without the worries he has now, rather than the bitter bloke he is becoming.
You know what they say Roo Ted......C.H.B.L. ;)

I was told on the w/e that the twisties had a record number of applicants for the A grade coaching position.

Congrats to Aaron Hockey becoming the new coach of Morphy Parks. Alot of applicants this year which is a good sign that the club is heding in the right direction. There is a good buzz around the club with some new faces joining and others coming back eg the big Sebinator and also retaining most of last years players. Anyone out there interested in getting on board contact the club and lets have a great 2011 season.
Also well down to the under 14's team this year. At the start of the season we thought we would struggle to field a team again but the commitment and fight the boys showed all year was fantastic. To be able to make finals was a great effort and something the boys should be very proud of. Lets continue the hard work and get both under 14's and under 16's for 2011. GO YOU ROOS

For all of you that care:

Troy re-elected as President
Paul Farrelly: V.P.
Dogga to go again as Treasurer.
Well done to all committee & vlounteers on last season.
A big surplus.

Poor turn out at AGM lads.
1 player.
1 lousy player.

No A grade captain.
No Paid players.

DISGRACE.

Put your hands out........................ NO loyalty.

Hope Aaron as new coach weeds you out.

WEAK,WEAK,WEAK.

You know who I am, let me know why you could not take 1 hour out of your dreary beer sodden lives to attend.

PATHETIC!

Good to see the old heads have put their hands up again. Paul is an excellent addition to Troy & Dogga. Can't say I ever really knew who was VP prior to this as I never saw him/her doing anything.

And I'm there with you on the players. All quick to bag the place but all too shy when it comes to the crunch.

Let's hope for Morphy's sake these guys are doing it for the right reasons.

An excellent post, Moe --- you laid it right on the line for them.
particularly players that get paid should have a powerful obligation to attend occurrences like the AGM. Unless you have an EXCELLENT reason for non-attendance, to not support it is woeful

The funeral for Bill Chester will be held on the 6th July at the Heysen Chapel at Centennial Park 9.30 am
The club will then be open afterwards for everyone to go back to (let’s face it – where else would he have wanted it), so everyone can have a bite to eat, a drink or two and share some of the great memories that “The Egg” has left us all with.

Billy, you will be sadly missed. I can't imagine walking into the club and not seeing you there. As Max wrote; Some of the Champions of Footy don't need medals or premierships to be admired by all. I think that says it all.
Will miss you mate.
