No worries, I'll keep an eye open for you, should be easy enough to pick you out! Be aware the driveway is quite steep.

That's right, I'll be the one at the bottom of the driveway with a bell yelling for someone to 'bring me more records'.

Is there anywhere outside of car boot sales and country markets where it is possible to buy cassettes in reasonable nick and well priced? Pre-recorded music tapes, not blank ones.

Re-Run in Renaissance Arcade have/had some.

Others that might (ring them to confirm), Twelve Inch at Wingfield, Mr V at Semaphore. I've been to both recently but can't recall if they had cassettes as I wasn't looking for them.

I noticed The Record Store on Sturt rd Warradale was open today so I popped in. They had a modest collection of cassettes, some overpriced but also some for a few bucks. I walked out with a few.

A very compact shop but packed to the rafters with a lot of diverse stuff. Cassettes CDs and vynil (sic). Retro turntables and tape decks. Even some clothing. They were doing a fairly brisk trade too; several people were browsing the stock while I was there.

I ventured out to 12 Inches Records at Wingfield today. Took me 4 times as long as it ought to have, thanks to roadworks on GJR, but I digress...

He does indeed stock a LOT of 2nd hand cassettes and CDs, but these are minimally organised. Mostly just boxes stuffed with 'em. This means one has to pore through the contents in the hope of finding something fun. This isn't a bad thing. 8)

The shop is chiefly a vynil (sic) store. These were well organised at the front of the premises.

However - he's planning to shut the shop soon and move to being entirely online. Because of this he is giving a massive discount on all stock - I think I heard 65% on the records. I walked out with a half dozen cassettes and a few CDS and paid only $5 for them. Giddy up!

I think the owners spend a lot of time getting new stock in and not arranging existing stock - just my 2c. And not a criticism, just an observation. The back area - personally I'd shut that off to the general public.

I note he's had 65% off Friday, Saturday and today, again in readiness for the online store being launched. I'm not sure giving 65% off is viable going forward.

I popped into 12 Inches Records today he was doing a brisk trade for the last day of the sale. I got a stack of CD's for $15 inc a couple of Doctor Who 3 disc audiobooks, absolutely caked in dust though.

Some guy was haggling over a Soundgarden poster the owner said he knows it's worth a lot and negotiations would start at $300, the guy backed out of that pretty quick.
