Went to The Tea Party and The Superjesus on Saturday night at Thebby. I'd have happily just watched Sarah McLeod all night, still hot and still an amazing voice. I went to the show just to see them, but was interested in how the Tea Party were live. Surprised myself by knowing two songs, one of which was a favourite of mine growing up but had completely forgotten it existed. They were good, but I remembered why I never really got into them back in the day, their good stuff is amazing, the rest is bland. Jeff Martin is an amazing frontman though, and such a deep voice!

I'll never forget back in my younger days when I cared about chasing autographs in 1998 I was at the Stamford in the city trying to track down Primus to get some autographs and The Tea Party were staying there too, I instantly recognised Jeff Martin big guy a good 6'3" black leather jacket and pants and bounced up to him with him thinking I wanted an autograph and straight up just asked him where Primus were at and in that big booming deep voice he says "Who gives a f__k about Primus, man!". A hit to his supposedly large ego but I did get him to sign my ticket anyway. I think he's mellowed a bit since then as this was when they first became pretty popular.

The 2015 Adelaide Festival has once again pulled a huge punch and launched a program to be envied, with the full program launching in Adelaide this evening. From music to visual arts, from dance to theatre productions, David Sefton and his team have assembled some world class talent to converge on Adelaide's artistic hub from February 27th to March 15th.

Digital illuminations will signal the opening of the 30th Adelaide Festival of Arts, with Blinc set to transform the entire Torrens riverbank district. The event is free for everyone to attend and check out every night of the festival next year.

Highlights of David Sefton's third year in the chair of Artistic Director include the huge event Danny Elfman's Music from the Films of Tim Burton, the theatre presentation of Tommy and of course, the return of Unsound Adelaide. The music program is as eclectic as ever, including:

Mogwai
65daysofstatic
Model 500
Vatican Shadow
Hieroglyphic Being
Fushitsusha
Shackleton
The Bug
Mika Vainio
Kenji Haino
Forest Swords
Lawrence English
Atom
Container
The Pop Group
Vampilia

Will be attending Mogwai and 65daysofstatic

Early March, Adelaide Oval will be in full swing with World Cup Cricket, footy prep. No need to tell you that though.

I agree, strange venue choice, what do you think capacity would be? 15,000 tops?

I thought why not Footy Park?

Could they squeeze in 20,000?

Doesn't matter how many they can get in its going to be sold out.

Because Footy Park is crap (IMHO) for concerts... It's a concrete echo bowl...

Agreed Jase, acoustics at Footy Park are shit.

Yes heater, they'll be snapped up quick. It will almost have an "intimate" feel to the show, compared to the AO gig.

Haven't been to a concert at Coopers, but every seat would have a great view I would think... Close to town, parking, trams etc etc...

Would be a great venue...

Agreed. Trams, trains all go within a short stroll, The Gov, Joiners and old Jolly Miller ( whatever it is now ) will be packed.

I've never been to Coopers at all, so it might be my first time there. ( Unless I get to an A League game.....)
