You going to Me First and the Gimme Gimme's Friday night, yes?

If so you can expect no Chris Cheney ( The Living End ) as he's currently in hospital looking decidedly unwell.

I'm not heading there, mate. Looked at it. But...we're off OS in five weeks, all money leads to there.

AMERICAN Idiot, the smash Broadway musical based on the music of punk band Green Day, is headed to Adelaide.

And to make sure there’ll be plenty of real rock ’n’ roll spirit in the show, Grinspoon frontman Phil Jamieson has been given a leading role.

Despite spending 20 years belting out hits like Chemical Heart and Lost Control fronting the Grinners, Jamieson said he had plenty to learn before he could play his character of St Jimmy.

American Idiot, Her Majesty’s Theatre, January 19-28, 2018. Tickets on sale on October 9 at bass.net.au or on 131 246
I'm not really a fan of Musical's but I might actually go and see this.

Mrs Boon's "Hall pass" is Phil Jamieson, we've seen Grinspoon around 15 or 16 times ( could be more ) and seen Phil at least 4 times doing solo shows, apparently we secured front row seats for this on Friday.

Will be breaking my musical duck. Not sure about it...

As a formerly big Green Day fan I have the 2 x CD cast recording of the American Idiot musical but have still never gotten around to listening to it. I too have the same trepidation with musicals. I saw Phil on the ABC the other day doing an interview promoting this, he's really cleaned himself up from his younger days.

Heard in the same promo interviews that he plays some songs live with a band.

Only musical I've ever seen is Charlie & Chocolate Factory at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane in London's West End. Very tempting to go to this show as well.

Yeah, not sure whether I'm keen or otherwise.

We're going with another couple who we're pretty close with and he's never been to a musical either, the girls have done plenty, must be a dozen or more together.

Worst comes to worst the "VIP" tickets we've got have a private bar,so.....

And then some I still remember that interview on Denton about his addictions and stealing money from the Grinners bank account.

Did you ever hear that side band he had around that time The Lost Gospel? Had 1 or 2 guys from Custard in it from memory.

Stevie Wright's son was in it and a bloke from Custard, I reckon they also played as "The Wrights" for a period.

With it being dubbed a "mini festival" I can only assume they'll be setting it up in the car park which, from memory, is gravel and dust. 3rd of Feb, Gepps Cross Hotel car park, no shade, gravel and dust....could be an interesting day.

The pub itself, especially the beer garden, is pretty good since the reno's have been done. @Dissident can confirm this.

From what I know though there's no way that it'll be kept inside, just isn't the room to do so but having said that I hope it is as it will be rocking if they do!
