Fantastic...you do get to see it :D

Do you also get the commentary god that is Sir Terry Wogan with his caustic wit cos I think I heard a year or two ago that in Aus they had ditched him for your own commentary team. Would be such a shame if you don't hear him...after all he is prepared to put us, the audience, before his own personal safety...I remember only too well the death threats he got from the people of Denmark after calling their presenters 'Dr Death and the Toothfairy' or some such.

I think Cliff Richard should be able to compete after being robbed of the title all those years ago ;)

Claims of Eurovision 'Iron Curtain'

VETERAN British Eurovision song contest host Terry Wogan has accused eastern European countries of drawing an 'iron curtain' on the competition to keep western countries from winning.

Wogan, who has provided commentary on the contest for 37 years, said eastern European countries were working together, stopping the UK from winning.

"It's understandable that all those new countries will want to huddle together for warmth but it doesn't do much for our prospects," Wogan said in London's Telegraph newspaper.

"Eurovision was intended to bring us all together but instead it makes it manifestly clear how far apart we all are. People in Bosnia Herzegovina are bound to feel more culturally attuned to the music of Serbia or Montenegro than to anything from western Europe."

Since 2001, the contest has been won by Estonia, Latvia, Turkey, Ukraine and Serbia.

Only in 2005 and 2006, when Greece and then Finland triumphed, did the eastern stranglehold ease.

The Serbian entry, Molitva, by Marija Serifovic, won last year's contest after being awarded the maximum 12 points by all five of the other former Yugoslav states.

If the UK entry this year - by the former X Factor contestant Andy Abrahams - failed to make an impression, the results could be disastrous, Wogan said.

"Andy Abrahams's song is the best UK entry for a while: if we finish nowhere again, I worry that disenchantment might take hold."

Don't worry zipzap...I'm assuming you're a fella...in which case IIRC it was made very clear last year that you most definitely would NOT be her type

Go the Irish farting turkey puppet (only the Eastern Europeans or the barking mad can win)

Used to love Eurovision. Now it's just poo.

Like sir Terry said, a group of eastern europeans huddling together giving each other 12 points.

Is has always been that way to some extent, urkey never gave Greece any points and vise versa, and Greece always gave Cyprus 12 and vis versa. The Nordic countries used to stick together a bit, Finland, Norway, Sweden and Denmark, but quite as much as Cyprus and Greece.

Difference then was there were a lot more countries that didn't cluster together. Then everybody started to hate England and we never got any points, especially after Tony Blairs sycophantic (sp) following of Bush into the Iraq war.

Like Jas says, now it's just for loonies and eastern block countries.

Shame really.

Well I'm devastated...the Irish farting turkey puppet didn't make it through last nights semi-final :( nor did plan B....the Andorra song that sounded like an Abba/Steps love child.

The countries that did make it
Greece
Romania
Bosnia - Scary brother and sister act with 4 mad brides in the background
Russia - Sounded familiar :? and stars the world figure skating champion on a tiny icerink.
Israel
Azerbijan - When did they join Europe  Rock song with leather clad devil (seen one too many Ozzie videos I think) and angels with feathery wings.
Armenia - We'll be having Afghanistan and India next :?
Poland
Norway
Finland - Think this might appeal to Bays fans...two lead guys looked a bit like the Cornes boys with long hair haha...heavy metal number.

Next semi-final tomorrow night...bring on the pirates from Latvia with the woman with the bottomless cleavage...you boys might like Ukraine, Malta and Sweden too

Of those with automatic entry...
Germany - Looks like the Desperate Houswives formed a group
France - Some sort of weird George Harrison comedy look alike.
Spain - Just bloody weird
Serbia - Full on melodrama

As long as it still attracts the lunatic fringe I'll keep watching
