I was there from 9.30 for just over an hour, was busy. Listening to the conversations around, there was some hardcore music lovers there.
The CD's were definitely cheap, grabbed 2 new vinyl records that were on my list at a good price plus a few cheap 80's various hits for some boozy nights at home.

Many people say that vinyl is a rarity and don't even waste time looking for it. No, don`t think so, because now it is much easier to buy vinyl records than 25 years ago. I have listened to vinyl for 30 years, recorded vinyl records on a reel to reel tape recorder. My personal opinion: vinyl has not outlived its usefulness, it is not an artifact of the last century when there was nothing better and more accessible. Vinyl is amazing thing. By the way. I would find a good service with free essays. Any ideas?

For anyone that's interested the first ever record fair at The Gov in September:

Mr V Music presents the first ever record fair at the Governor Hindmarsh Hotel on Saturday the 18th of September 2021, from 10am to 3pm, with FREE entry.

Located opposite the Adelaide Entertainment Centre at 59 Port Road, Hindmarsh (on the corner of Gibson Street & Port Road), there is plentiful parking in nearby streets and on the Port Road median strip. Public transport by train, tram and bus is also available.

20 traders will have 40 tables of stock for sale, including CDs, vinyl records, DVDs and more.

In accordance with State Government regulation, face masks must be worn at all times (unless eating or drinking). Customers are also required to scan QR codes - or fill in their names & phone numbers on the lists provided - prior to entering the venue, for contact tracing purposes.

Coffee and refreshments will be available at the hotel front bar from 10am onwards, while the pub kitchen will open at noon to supply meals for the rest of the day and a live band will perform in the evening.

Please be advised that this is a CASH ONLY event, however an ATM is located on the premises.

Mr V Music is a record, CD & DVD shop located at 115 Semaphore Road, Semaphore.

The Governor Hindmarsh Hotel has been an acclaimed music venue for over 45 years and has staunchly supported local bands throughout the current pandemic.

I went there yesterday and had a blast. I could've spent 10 hours there but spent 2 hours there instead. Mate of mine had hit his budget in 30 minutes and was ready to go home. Mental note to self - meet him there next time :-)

I purchased 8 singles for $35. Can't wait till the next event.

Four up coming record fairs to end 2022 at Aldgate, Woodshed at Royal Park, a hip-hop specific one in the city and one at Port Elliot too.

ALDGATE MUSIC SALE

Malcolm and Andy are back for the final Adelaide Hills Record, CD, DVD & Book Sale of 2022 at the Aldgate Pump Hotel, 1 Strathalbyn Road, Aldgate on the weekend of Saturday & Sunday the 3rd & 4th of December, from 9am to 5pm (no early birds).

A big thank you to all of the music enthusiasts who have attended the three previous sales in 2022, making this the best year ever in terms of sales and attendances. Both Malcolm and Andy pride themselves on presenting a huge range of items, from $2 cheapies to high-end collectables and the continuous supply of fresh stock is the key to their success.

Malcolm will once again have an incredible selection of collectable LPs. He will also be selling an impressive range of rare jazz EPs, along with reducing four crates of collectable LPs to $10 each. Andy has some awesome newly acquired jazz & funk albums, as well as some fresh boxed sets of The Beatles and John Lennon. As usual there will be a diverse range of quality CDs.

For those requiring CD storage a variety of racks and shelves will be on sale. With Christmas around the corner why not buy a present or two ? Just a note to collectors of 7” singles, at this sale there won’t be much fresh stock as they’re being stockpiled for next year’s sale events.

If you’ve never been to the Aldgate Music Sale before, Mal & Andy invite you to experience a more relaxed & laid back record fair-style event, less than 30 minutes travel from the city. With a great range of vinyl, CDs and music related DVDs & books at very reasonable prices and generous bulk-buy reductions, it’s a sale not to be missed. Why not make a day of it by booking a table for the Aldgate Pump's delicious meals on 8339 2015, for lunch or dinner ? As always admission will be free !

Mal and Andy are always keen to buy record collections, so feel free to request an offer / quote.

Please be advised that this is a CASH ONLY sale and an ATM is conveniently situated downstairs in the hotel.

WOODSHED RECORD FAIR

The inaugural event at a new venue in the western suburbs near West Lakes, takes place on Saturday the 10th of December, from 9am to 4pm. Woodshed is located at 13/2 Brandwood Street, Royal Park and there’ll be a dozen sellers offering twenty tables worth of records, CDs and more. Free entry.

ASAP Coffee will supply caffeine from opening time and Wood Oven Express will have food from lunchtime, while the venue’s own bar will be open at noon to supply alcoholic beverages all afternoon.

CURATED RECORD FAIR AT SMOKELOVERS

Good Music Everywhere (GME) presents the final record fair of the year curated by Adelaide's best traders and DJs of hip-hop, indie, soul, funk, jazz, club, house, disco and techno -
Record Playerz (T-bot & Davide)
Garage Records (aka Young & Restless DJs)
The Red Crate (hip-hop / soul / funk)
Nick Gencarelli (Endless Grooves)
Troy J Been (2kW, Bank Street Social)
Aaronac (Udaberri)
Oisima (hip-hop collection)

It's an opportunity to acquire some incredible records from the personal collections of this city's finest music aficionados and underground record stores, from noon to 4pm on Sunday, the 11th of December, at Smokelovers, 244 Rundle Street in the city (next to the Exeter Hotel), a new east end venue dedicated to great music and awesome beverages. Full bar service will be available all afternoon and into the evening. Free entry.

PORT ELLIOT VINYL FAIR

To start the new year, the annual south coast music event returns for the fourth time from 9:30am to 2:30pm on Saturday the 7th of January 2023, at licensed venue The Jetty Food Store, 42 North Terrace, Port Elliot.

With a selection of Adelaide’s leading record sellers participating, there will be a huge selection of all styles of music on offer. Admission will be $2 at the gate.

In keeping with the integrity of this sale, no early birds will be permitted. This means that all the quality & rare items are available to the general public from the moment of opening.

Be aware that some of the sellers are cash only, but there are ATMs nearby at the Port Elliot Bakery (next door) and the Royal Hotel (50 metres down the street).

After a three year break, Adelaide’s biggest record fair is back - Music Palooza takes place on Saturday & Sunday the 1st & 2nd of July at the Latvian Hall, 4 Clark Street, Wayville (just off Greenhill Road) from 10am to 5pm on both days.

Music Palooza serves both hardened collectors and casual browsers alike, with amazing bargains, hard-to-find rarities, retro classics, some of the latest new releases and everything inbetween - both new and secondhand. This is a great opportunity to buy music the old-fashioned way - through face-to-face transactions directly with the sellers at a market-style event.

There’s plenty of free parking in the streets around the venue.
