RIP Scott Weiland

Postby Gozu » Fri Dec 04, 2015 5:58 pm

This is devastating news.

Former STONE TEMPLE PILOTS and VELVET REVOLVER singer Scott Weiland was found dead on his tour bus in Minnesota. He was 48 years old.

A source connected to Scott's band THE WILDABOUTS told TMZ Scott was was discovered unresponsive on their bus Thursday night around 9 p.m. — shortly before the group was to go on stage at the Medina Entertainment Center in Medina.

I almost feel like crying. Right when STP are looking for a new singer again too.

RIP Scott you were one hell of a singer. Thank you :(

I'm absolutely gutted. I must admit I shed a tear or two.

Stone Temple Pilots was one of my biggest influences, and I loved Scott's solo work.

It was perhaps inevitable, but I'm also surprised he made it this long, given his history of substance abuse.

My Facebook page is about to be littered with Scott-related videos.

Sad news. A great frontman with a distinctive voice from the last great 'era' or movement of rock music. A man who lived with a number of demons, from what I understand, and it seems like they've finally caught up with him.

Always thought STP never really got the reception they probably deserved. "Interstate Love Song" is one helluva song, though. That song in itself is a fair epitaph in my book.

Amen Magellan. A cracker(man).

Always thought I'd be posting in this thread a lot sooner than now. Still sad news, Core and Purple still get rotations in my place to this day.

I know I'd be in the minority here, but to me, Tiny Music... was STP's finest moment.

If I was to rank each album from first to worst, it would be:

1. Tiny Music...
2. Purple (a close second)
3. Core
4. No. 4
5. Shangri-La Dee Da
6. Stone Temple Pilots (save for a couple of songs, it was shite).
