Yes, very sad, and very unexpected. RIP. An all-round musical genius who could play any instrument, particularly the guitar - and he was one f**king hot guitarist. I mean, seriously smoking. I don't think he got enough credit for his guitar skills, but I guess when you're good at all things musical that's what happens.

Exhibit A: check out his solo on "While My Guitar Gently Weeps":

Very sad news I only recently got his triple-album Emancipation. I heard only about a week or so ago on tour in the US his plane had to make an emergency landing somewhere for flu like symptons or something so thought nothing of it.

Even though I was never right into his music one thing I admired about him was he did things his way and didn't care if people thought he was crazy like his mansion supposedly being entirely purple. He even held parties for his fans at his mansion.

I'm a sucker for anything in 12/8 time

Not a huge fan of Prince, when I hear this song, the volume goes up a couple of notches. The layers and muscianship on this track are amazing

As others have said a muscial and artistic genius.
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

Wow, this is unexpected news.

We're left with an abundance of timeless music.

Here's my favourite Prince song:

Politicians kissing babies for good luck,
TV preachers sell salvation for a buck.
You don't need no golden cross to tell you wrong from right,
The world's worst murderers were those who saw the light.

Earlier in the day, the 80s iHeartRadio channel played a solid hour of Prince. Now 2:30 PM and it appears to have just started up again.
