Unlike Fly’s mob, Flys Flagpies have wrapped up the minor premiership and they will be looking to make it two promotions in two years after an excellent debut season in Divvy V last season. In fact, the top four look a fair way ahead of the rest at this stage and you’d think something would have to go disastrously wrong for them not to go up to Divvy III next season seeing as Pigs Arsenal can’t be promoted. The battle for the top eight will go down to the wire but due to the nature of the matchups, Youngy (who gets Dodge this week) looks like he’s done his dash even after he rolled the recently inconsistent Pigs Arsenal last week. Smashed Crab should take care of Red Devils which will book his spot while STAR MIDFIELD cops the resurgent Robsquad. Fantasy Virgin plays One Point Kickers in the last round so I reckon she gets home evcen if Robsquad does Youngy a solid. Go Tiges needs to roll Pigs Arsenal to make the Divvy IV finals and my poor Piggies have hit the wall in recent weeks so he should start a slight favourite. None of these match ups help Youngy and Amy will be hoping one of Tiges or MIDFIELD hit that last round banana skin. The relegation battle is over after improved from from Robsquad and especially Brad’s Rookies shut the door on the bottom four. The top 16 are guaranteed Division IV next season and One Point Kickers, Bold City Barras, Red Devils and Trades of Glory are Divvy V bound.

Finals time and Fantasy Virgin pinched the last finals place with a narrow win over One Point Kickers. MIDFIELD missed out after getting knocked over by Robsquad in the last round while Go Tiges decent score in their loss against Pigs Arsenal was enough for them to retain the percentage advantage and get eighth spot. There’s four stand out teams when it comes to possible promotion with the top three sides and Anytime Turtles just outside the top four. Fly sewed up top spot weeks ago but showed no mercy to the Turtles who showed strong resistance in their high scoring loss. Liking Fly and Brodlach to earn the week off next week while the Turtles and Smashed Crab should go on to win their knockout finals. Once we get to the second week of finals it will be a very closely contested premiership. The relegated sides were identified last week and at least Bold City Barras managed to go out with a win while it was more of the same for the rest. Trades of Glory took out the spoon with both of his wins coming in consecutive weeks as they briefly snuck ahead of Red Devils who were the lowest scoring team in the league. The minor premier had a finals flop worthy of Port Power as Flys Sagpies lost by nearly three hundred points to the mighty Pigs Arsenal. Promotion is not an option for the Pigs but they can throw a few spanners in the promotion works and Fly was the first casualty as they suffered just their fourth loss for the year. Bonts Neighbour was the first team to earn promotion to Division III after the Bont cleaned up Brodlach who might want to drop the Bombers name for next year’s finals. Favourites Anytime Turtles and Smashed Crab managed to win their knockout finals with the Crabs being particularly impressive against Fantasy who put up a fine showing to no avail. The Tiges have had a decent season but fell well short of the Turtles. This means that three of the teams in the Semi finals will go up to Division IV. The two winners will be promoted automatically and the losing team with the most points will also be promoted. I think the winners might be Anytime Turtles and Smashed Crab which means that minor premier Fly could be very unlucky indeed as he trails Brodlach by over 200 points so Fly would miss if the Crabs and Turtles get up.

Flys Flagpies have fallen over massively in recent weeks and have blown their promotion chances to Hogg Div III next season despite a dominant minor round performance. Anytime Turtles took the promotion spot with a 109-point victory over the flagging pies who look like missing out on promotion on points as they trail Brodlach by nearly 400 points with only two rounds remaining. Smashed Crab earned the other automatic promotion with a massive score to sink the unlucky Brodlach but the Bombers have had a fine season and look to be the fourth promoted side to Divvy III next year. In the upcoming prelims I’m liking the Semi winners to roll the waiting teams. Anytime and Bont will be very close but my Pigs Arsenal team is in all sorts this week so a nice easy walkover into the Grand Final for the Crabs who deserve the opportunity.

Ack! Crabby’s got me by two points which means that even though I was in about eighty six leagues this season, no Grand Final for REB. A big effort by Smashed Crab who has been one of the teams of the season. The Crabs qualified with a meaningless kick by Elliot Yeo and the Eagles, but it meant a bit to the Crabs. In the other Prelim it was another edition of Bonts’ Finals Flops as Anytime Turtles were far less scarred by the weekend’s carnage. I have some sympathy for Bont because it looks he goes at like me, aggressive as but with nothing in the tank come August. This weekend’s Grand Final is almost impossible to pick. Both sides have been solid all year but Smashed Crab shades the Turtles in season scoring. In recent weeks the Turtles have bridged the gap somewhat but I think last weekend’s carnage stripped the Crabs of a much bigger score. Not sure if anyone has Houston or not but if one does and the other doesn’t that will obviously prove decisive in this match. I’m thinking that the carnage of last week may ease a bit this week and that will favour the Crabs who should go on to win another close one.
