Thanks Punky. The fixture is already set up in SuperCoach, just click on Round 4 to see who you are playing in the first round. Another interesting feature introduced this year is 'around the grounds' where you can look at progress scores of all the matches in your league. Come the final round this will be compulsive viewing for some coaches.

I was actually thinking that a complete separate forum for the footy games, Dream Team and Super Coach, would be good

Rather than bunching it all up into one thread. I bet one topic right now would be "should I trade Andrew Raines?"

It seems to work well on BigFooty - a bunch of SC & DT diehards get in and discuss various players & strategies ...

Ooh, I'll start...Was thinking of trading him with Cheney, but I might wait one more week and see how he goes in R2. It would free up some cash and I could upgrade a forward at the same time. Don't want to have to burn two trades straight up though.

This was the only trade that I was forced to make this week and I have done exactly that: Raines for Cheney - I thought I might as well get on him now whilst I can, this is what trades are for!

Problem is if Cheney has a couple of 5hit games he's no longer a good cash cow and the matches don't start until Round 4. There is no excuse for burning a trade this week unless you are a genuine chance of winning the overall prize.

Therefore if your score isn't about 2400 you should hang on to the trade. Cheney did rack up the points last week but he looked a limited player to me. It doesn't matter squat if you pick up a donut this week but it does in the finals believe me. Pup is still laughing! ;)

Yep, that's what I thought, wanted to see how he goes again and at the same time see how some other prospects are faring. Besides, the Hogg Shield means more to me than any prizemoney :D

Watch out for darcy in your division. He's got a seriously good side.

The other issue I have with trading for Cheney is that I will then have 4 rookies in my defence which seems too risky

Plus, as REB says who knows if Cheney will be a bust this week. I bet a lot of coaches have rushed that exact trade already.

On the basis that the Hogg starts soon I am going to sit tight. Liam Anthony however, well I'll re-assess next week. Seems a waste of a trade swapping rookies.

EDIT: Now Hurley is out too :( My defence was already my weak point to begin with now I'm relying on Suban and Petrenko to start. My forwards who were my strong point are still 9/9 on field. Still going to hold firm, no trading yet.

Hondo, I'm in a similar situation (Petrenko and Hill). Petrenko looks like he'll play, but neither Suban or Hill are certainties. Don't mind copping a donut at this stage, will be keeping Raines in for now.

Likewise. I wont be trading just yet. I would be happy enough with a below 2000 score as long as i have no more injuries and then fine tune my side for the real stuff come round 4.

Still pondering my captain for this week

Goddard, Corey, Chapman, Mitchell, or Higgins (he was my highest scoring player last week  ) ?

Lets go...Joel Corey

There has been nine matches so far this season and I have already had four injuries. I took the high risk option on players with poor injury records and I'm now paying the price. My score for this round so far is 192 with four players used!
