Bad news for those that have picked him up.

Sydney's Ben McGlynn may miss a month Staff writer From: Herald Sun April 20, 2010 6:25PM

SYDNEY'S explosive recruit Ben McGlynn will miss at least the next two matches with a quad injury.
McGlynn has been a revelation since being snapped up from Hawthorn in trade week, kicking bags of five goals against Sydney in Round 2 and another three against Richmond the next week.

He hurt his leg in the first quarter of the Swans' win against North Melbourne last Saturday but played out the game, kicking a goal.

But the Swans website has reported that a scan on Monday showed that McGlynn’s injury was worse than first thought and he will miss two to four weeks.

Sydney coach Paul Roos said McGlynn had been in fantastic form and would be missed.

“It’s not great because Ben has been playing really well, but the best part about our forward line in recent weeks is that the goals have been shared around,’’ Roos said.

“While Ben has kicked goals, so have a number of other players, so we’re not relying on any one forward.’’

Roos backed his in-form ruckmen Mark Seaby and Shane Mumford - two more of Sydney's experienced recruits - to take on West Coast pair Dean Cox and Nic Naitanui at the SCG on Saturday.

Naitanui received the Rising Star Nomination this week.

Roos said making plans to combat Naitanui was a waste of time.

“With a guy like Nic you’ve got to be careful you don’t over-analyse him because he’s a real freakish, natural sort of player that we probably haven’t seen before," Roos said.

“If you say we’ll do this or that against him, he could surprise you in another area.

“From our point of view we’ll give him the respect he deserves but our ruckmen have been in really good form.’’
For every one I miss I am closer to a hole in one.

Veszpremi could be a possible inclusion for him. He's been playing well for the reserves by all reports.

There's a certain Carlton supporting coach in Hogg Premier who has picked up Spudanta. Have a look at the ladder and start your guessing from there.

No trades for me this week. Still too early to cash anyone in, and as far as I know no one is injured.

OUT - Des Headland. IN - Luke McPharlin.
OUT - Simon Prestigiacomo. IN - Luke Hodge

Plus, with Buddy back in this week I should score a much better total. Hopefully break the 2000 barrier for the first time.

Despite MacKay and Boyd being out this week I think I might keep the trades in the bank. I have Jetta & Masten on the bench in the midfield to cover both. It's still early and I have confidence in my squad at this stage. Will see if any other injury surprises get thrown up tonight though.

Haha. Was a silly call. Picked my original team in a rush.
Have been trying to make up for it since.
Getting rid of Riewoldt and Cox has freed up a lot of cash for me though.

LOL. You picked up Cox at a top price but traded him out for a lower price when he dudded it when we aren't even playing matches yet. In a few weeks he'll hit top form and you'll have cost yourself a trade and about 100K.

If he is on the park use Too Serious to work out when to upgrade him - trade him sooner rather than later as he is not scoring all that meany points. If he's on the bench save the trade and once again use Too serious to work out when to upgrade him.

Westhoff and Roberts OUT

Podsiadly and Rockliff IN

balance $276,800

should be enough for a straight trade for Judd/Hodge/Bartel in a few weeks...

I dodged a bullet last week, I had the money to trade up Connors for either Boyd, Hodge or McGlynn, I eventually went for Hodge at a pretty reasonable price. I managed 1953 points without Stanton or Thornton playing.
This week I got rid of Thornton and Relton Roberts for Goddard and Podsiadly, I'm pretty happy with that, all of my forwards are playing, I need to work out who to sit out though, it's out of Ziebell, Rockliffe, iPod and Gumbleton, one of them is a no-brainer.

Bloody hell. Mitchell out with injury and now Hargrave is a late withdrawal for tonight's game. ****! The worst part about them is they've both dropped shirtloads in price and aren't even worth a sideways trade anymore.

Just the one trade for me this week. Riewoldt out, Podsiadly in.
