I am thinking about Buddy Franklin at $470K or maybe Hurn in defence or Cox in ruck. I have funds for a small upgrade and Waters, Hall and Clark are in the gun.

Just waiting on the final teams to decide what I do.

DT:

Hall out Hughes In
Gumby out Pav In

Big call taking gumby off the pine and Hughesy taking his spot but enabled me to get Pav on and keep Gray as I think he'll come good.

Damn, just pooed myself...... ;)

What type of fish are you? Wondering whether I'd be better off baking or frying. :)

Based on our respective form to date you'll probably end up eating me raw... :(

Just questions as you are so involved.
How many trades have you used to date?
How many cash cows do you pick up initially?
How many do you put aside for upgrades?
How many do you put aside for injuries?

And to give a bit in reverse I have selected around 11 new starters in my team this year as first year cash cows. (the most ever for me)

Do you mean "involved" or obsessed?

8 trades so far
I started 4 rookies and about 5 other players < $400K. 12 rookies in all including bench players.
Upgrades depend on how the players go but I'd guess maybe 14 trades for upgrades and 6 for LTIs. That's what I have budgeted for myself anyway. Someone like Barlow turning into a gun saves an upgrade.

How have you gone with your plans?

Gray doesn't work hard enough. Get rid of him before it's too late!!

Less Rookies as such (9) although I started with a number of bargain type players (in my eyes) EG. Goose, Hunt, Waters, Robinson etc and would have had Burgoyne if fit at the start. Only 6 trades so far but might use two this week to get my 3rd upgrade and to cash up for another.
My big move this year has been to leave Gablett out.
This has freed up cash to spend on others. Has worked some weeks but was killed the other when he gets 200 and my Capt gets 125. I have now freed up the cash to get him but I might take the ride a bit further as I reckon I will only need him for finals.
I also need to save a trade to get Ruey back at the end of the year.
