Who's winning in Division IV? Me Mum! Yep, the old dear (FNQ Trotters) is having a cracking SuperCoach season and is the only team left standing after the top two teams fell into the giant crater that was round 4 in SuperCoach. OneWins and the Superboots were upstaged by Frostilicous and my lad DA HEAT to lose their tight grip on this division. DA HEAT's win was quite impressive and they look to be a good thing for the finals based on their form so far this year. Just like Brodlach, I am getting outscored by my 14 year old son who made ZERO moves this week and cashed in on Pendles' giant captaincy score.

One of the few coaches I'm not related to in this league (Got an Uncle and two brothers in law in this one as well), Robsquad, are also in top four and they put the pressure on OneWins and Superboots with their third win in four weeks with a tight win over the battling St Brays Saints. Porter Guns finally had the breakthrough win as they hammered Herb while White Line Fever, RustyCage and Northern Cats also got the score ticking over in a week when many teams failed to do exactly that.

The big match this week was between the Superboots and OneWinWonders and Shane romped home to consign OneWin to their second straight loss. FNQ Trotters remain unbeaten after winning a high quality match against an unlucky Northern Cats. The King of the league this week was the King Cobwebs who racked up 2113 to smash Porter Guns. The guns have been high scoring losers but this week they played like the 17th ranked team the ladder says they are.

Another team to impress this week was Gilligan's Power Rules who have had a scratchy start to their Hogg career. Last week though they got the job done nicely with a respectable 2088 which was too hot to handle for Frostilicous. Herby finally pulled his finger out with a big win over top eight DA HEAT but it's bad news for the Sainters as St Brays Saints are struggling for wins as are Chokin Tuna and bottom of the pile Go Tiges.

OneWinWonders and the Superboots underlined their premiership credentials with a some heavy scoring in the 6th round of Divvy IV action. Onewins smashed the struggling Herbs'n'spices while the Superboots had a comfortable win against an outgunned Frostilicous. Unbeaten FNQ Trotters and top eight Northern Cats both consolidated their position on the ladder with an identical score. Robsquad's brilliant season keeps on keeping on as the squad racked up their fifth win in six matches.

Porter Guns have been doing it tough this season losing matches despite scoring well. This week was a different story as the Porters got the win despite not cracking 2000. King Cobwebs won a crucial match against DA HEAT who are looking vulnerable in the top eight now. The biggest flop of the week though was RustyCage who could only post 1615 against the league leaders. The heavy defeat saw the Cage get slammed...down to 10th from 5th on ladder last week. OUCH.

This year's Divvy IV is not as hard as the past few seasons. Your team has just scored their best score for many weeks...you've won the game right? Babow. Spare a thought for White Line Fever who upped the ante against the league leaders and lost by ten points. Their reward for such a competitive effort? Out the eight for you go, no soup for you. Then there is Herbs'N'Spices. A score of over 2200 would be good enough to win plenty of matches in leagues better than this one but unfortunately for Herb the only score that beat his was his opponent as the mighty Superboots climbed to second on the back of an impressive victory. Other teams that were bitten by the SuperCoach gods were (not for the first time) Porter Guns, King Cobwebs and Frosticious.

Meanwhile Robsquad spudded it up and managed to win his sixth game of the season. Go Tiges displayed their usual form but it was enough to get the points against PowerFailure while DA HEAT cleaned up an ordinary Saints combination that fell to stone motherless on the ladder.

18 Go Tiges 2 6 15286 16345 93.52 8

The highlight of the round was the outrageous upset of St Brays Saints tossing the onewinwonders. This match could be the turning point for the Sainters who looked headed for Divvy V until this astonishing result. FNQ Trotters is the only unbeaten team in the Hogg after round eight in what turned out to be a bit of a reality check for Robsquad who were not up to task. Shane's Superboots look the team to beat in this division as once again they scored very well, even Daisy didn't crack 2300 this week so Shane is bowling some wronguns so far this season. The big movers this week were the Northern Cats who took advantage of onewins' and the squad's loss to move into the top four. Hogg rookie Gilligan is marooned no more as his Power Rules scored well yet again to move into the top eight on the eve of the bye rounds.

8 Porter Guns 4 5 18245 17677 103.21 16

9 Power Rules 4 5 18135 17888 101.38 16
10 Frostilicous 4 5 18363 18132 101.27 16
11 King Cobwebs 4 5 17896 18280 97.90 16
12 White Line Fever 4 5 17583 18142 96.92 16

16 PowerFailure 2 7 17432 18303 95.24 8
17 St Brays Saints 2 7 17226 18092 95.21 8
18 Go Tiges 2 7 16457 17886 92.01 8

FNQ Trotters are still unbeaten but not without a scare as 16th ranked PowerFailure came within 8 points of rolling the ladder leaders. The big surprise was the Cobras massive score to roll OneWinWonders who were dead stiff as my bro in law always gets up for when he plays me in the Piglet and he came out trading especially for this match the mongrel. The Cobras have Martin and Kelly so the OneWins copped a bit of a shellacking despite recording a half decent score. Shanes Superboots still look the team to beat and Northern Cats put in another strong performance. Porter Guns have been under-performing for most of the season but they've got their act together lately and are now in the top eight for the first time. Frostilicous has thawed a bit lately as well and they are now challenging for the finals. Herbs'N'Spices also put in a strong effort with perhaps DA HEAT the vulnerable team in the top eight but this finals battle will be tight.

18 St Brays Saints 2 8 19021 19960 95.30 8

Porter Guns have created a remarkable comeback from 1-4 to be 5-5 with seven rounds to play before finals. The Guns announced themselves as a contender when they ended FNQ Trotters' nine game unbeaten streak in comprehensive fashion. This means that the best team in the league, Shanes Superboots are now top of the division and they look likely to remain there due to their high scoring throughout the season. They shouldn't be this low so they are heading for the 'Summer of George' award for flogging weak opposition in a lower league because they didn't get around to accepting a promotion. On current form the Superboots would hold their own in Premier League so they'll take some beating down here.

It was just another week in the Shanes Superboots league with the leaders smashing another outgunned opponent. Just as Shane is looking good his mates in the top four are also looking the standout contenders to go up a level as there is now a two game gap between fourth and fifth with six weeks to play in the minor round. The last four go up in this league so if they win one final it's Divvy III for them in 2018.

A couple of decent sides who look to be falling short at this stage are Porter Guns, Herbs'N'Spices and OneWinWonders. These three sides are all scoring well on a regular basis but can't seem to get the wins on the board. Cobras had a bad bye round this week and their run of wins was halted but brother Chokin Tuna is starting to reel them a bit and they are starting to crank it up a little. Power Rules is playing well enough to make the finals while an inconsistent DA HEAT looks on.

Robsquad are the new Division IV league leaders after a heap of upsets took out three of the top four teams this weekend. Chokin Tuna pulled off the big one by upstaging the seemingly unstoppable Superboots and OneWinWonders got the job done against fellow front runners FNQ Trotters. Porter Guns won a vital match against Northern Cats while DA HEAT defended their top eight place at the expense of Power Rules.

There are quite a few good sides currently outside the eight with OneWins, Herbie and Chokin Tuna all strongly challenging the top eight sides. This league has gotten a lot more competitive all of a sudden even if the Superboots still look the side to beat. At the other end of the spectrum their are five sides who look worthy of Division V participation and this week it was PowerFailure who got out of the relegation zone after they won a cripple fight against RustyCage.

18 St Brays Saints 2 11 24550 25909 94.75 8

Shanes Superboots have fired a warning shot across the bow of their rivals with a high quality win over challenger FNQ Trotters this week. Both teams scored very well but the Superboots 2451 was a commanding score which put the Trotters on the back Trotter and relegated them to second billing. Robsquad still lead the league but they would appear to be vulnerable from the Superboots and the Trotters. Another side to have come from seemingly nowhere is Chokin Tuna who have also been scoring very well in recent weeks. The Fish have entered the top eight for the first time after smashing Herbie. The inconsistent DA HEAT was displaced after they lost a close one to Northern Cats and I doubt whether DA HEAT is hot enough to get back into the finals race.

White Line Fever had a very important win as they put PowerFailure back into the relegation zone. WLF looked cooked last week with several poor weeks but turned it around at the exact right time against a side that is also battling to avoid the drop. With four games to go it looks like Go Tiges and St Brays Saints will go down so there are three sides trying to avoid two spots so a massive win for the Fever.

18 St Brays Saints 2 12 26220 27980 93.71 8

Chokin Tuna's recent blistering unbeaten run has come to calamitous close after they were belted by a rampant King Cobwebs who hauled out a Hogg High 2464 to remain in the finals hunt. Robsquad have been on top a few weeks but have somehow been playing second fiddle but this week it was all about rd as his squad smashed PowerFailure in a week where the Superboots suffered their second loss of the season to Power Rules as Gilligan scored the best victory yet in his Hogg career.

OneWinWonders showed they aren't done with quite yet with a meritorious win over top four rated Northern Cats. Frostilicous came out of the cold with a narrow win over the Cobras while Porter Guns and Herbs'N'Spices were two in form sides that copped a loss. It's not looking good for the bottom four here as White Line Fever has won their past two matches and they've now got a two game buffer on the relegation zone. Go Tiges rolled St Brays Saints but his win might not be enough for the Tiges to avoid the drop. St Brays ae already down with three to play.

After Round 15 we aren't much wiser as to who is going to make the top eight as the majority of the top sides won their matches this weekend. Shanes Superboots once again flexed their muscles despite a return to scoring form from Northern Cats. The Cats big score did prevent the Superboots from reclaiming top spot even though the Robsquad put in a bit of a shocker this week to go down to an equally below-par Porter Guns. FNQ Trotters claimed an important win to shore up their rep as a genuine contender as King Cobwebs copped a very costly loss given the other results of the weekend.

Gilligan's Power Rules have certainly been pouring on the power of late but there is no room at the inn for Gilligan who remains marooned in ninth place. DA HEAT found some scoring power on the weekend to roll a resurgent White Line Fever whose finals campaign appears to be over after their ninth loss for the year. The bottom four look pretty good things for relegation at this stage as they aren't scoring well enough to bridge the two game gap to White Line Fever. Thanks for coming folks!

18 St Brays Saints 2 14 30203 32417 93.17 8

A couple of upset wins have put the cat amongst the pigeons in the penultimate round of Division IV action. DA HEAT looked ripe for the picking as far as his top eight spot went but they rolled the previous ladder leader Robsquad easily to keep the high scoring Power Rules team out of the top eight for another week. White Line Fever ensured they would not go back down to Division V after they rolled early pacesetter OneWinWonders who will now miss the eight after failing to put away the lower ranked side.

At the top of the ladder it seems inevitable that Shanes Superboots will win the minor premiership seeing as the Superboots are the top scoring side in the Hogg this season. FNQ Trotters will probably finish second and avoid the Superboots in the first round of the finals so it looks like the Trotters might finally be heading up to Divvy III. There is a massive battle on for that last spot in the top four with Frostilicous in form and holding it down at the moment. Northern Cats and Cobras still have ambitions and both are scoring pretty well too. Meanwhile, the relegation battle is over as PowerFailure, Go Tiges, RustyCage and St Brays Saints have all gone down and are playing in their last Divvy IV game this week, at least for a while.

Gilligan's Power Rules have been stalking the top eight for several weeks and finally got in there after 15th ranked PowerFailure sensationally upset DA HEAT to punt the Tigers to (heh heh) ninth place. PowerFailure was just one of the relegated sides who managed to farewell Division IV with a win as Go Tiges rolled Chokin Tuna and RustyCage had a day out against Herbs'N'Spices who would have to be a bit disappointed with their 14th placed finish in this league.

A few other coaches would be much happier. Shanes Superboots duly collected the Minor Premiership and FNQ Trotters have done well to secure second spot and avoid the Superboots in the finals until Grand Final day. FNQ Trotters have had their career best season after being a mid table ranked Division IV sides for several years and they look good things to go up to Division III next season. Fourth ranked Frostilicous bring in some great form into the finals but Robsquad not so much as rd's boys have gone off the boil.

In the bottom half of the eight, Northern Cats and Power Rules look well placed to advance past the first week of the finals at the expense of the less consistent Cobras and Porter Guns although on paper both sides look capable. It looks like the Superboots flag to lose from here.

Finals Week 1

Qualifying Finals
Shanes Superboots 2447
Frostilicous 2219

FNQ Trotters 2449
Robsquad 2233

Elimination Finals
Northern Cats 2152
Porter Guns 2108

Power Rules 2377
Cobras 2001

Results went pretty much according to script in the first week of Division IV finals with the power teams Shanes Superboots and FNQ Trotters duly winning their way through to the Preliminary Final and promotion to Hogg Division III. Frostilicious has been brave in recent weeks but just didn't have the firepower to stop the mighty Superboots but perhaps the FNQ Trotters do have as they smashed the out of form Robsquad who at least upped their scoring a little. In the knockout finals Northern Cats were unimpressive in victory over the Porter Guns whose two trades this week were Wells and Brown. In form Power Rules was much more impressive as they cleaned up trade burners Cobras to stay in the hunt for a promotion or unlikely premiership tilt.

In the semis next week Frostilicious has drawn the short straw and plays the white hot Power Rules who have a got a real sniff now. Robsquad will face Northern Cats in the other semi with the prize being promotion for the winners while the losers will have to console themselves with the fact that they will be amongst the favourites for Divvy IV next year. In the teams playing this week I only see Power Rules as being a threat to the big two.

Semi Finals

1st Semi Final
Northern Cats 2398
Frostilicous 2002

2nd Semi Final
Power Rules 2348
Robsquad 1852

Northern Cats and Power Rules have joined FNQ Trotters and Shane Superboots as promoted sides to Division III after both sides unseated top four opponents and sentenced them to straight sets exits. Both of the losing sides hardly gave a yelp with Robsquad fading badly towards the end of the season. It looks like rd's trades dried up several weeks ago and the squad has been running on fumes for weeks while Frostilicous hasn't thawed out at all and they'll be on ice in Divvy IV again next season.

The Cats and the Power have had a great Semi Final weekend but both face significant challenges to qualify for the Grand Final. Shanes Superboots have taken all before them and will start a hot favourite against the admittedly in form Power Rules. Northern Cats will face up to FNQ Trotters in the other Prelim and while they should get closer the smart money is on the Trotters.

Weird season as coach of the Robsquad. For most of the season my footy tipping was atrocious but the Robsquad SuperCoach players were all in great form. About 6 weeks ago I started getting my footy tips right and have climbed the footy tipping ranks but in return, the SuperCoach players all lost form or got injured. Seems you either go well at footy tipping or SuperCoach BUT not both at the same time !

Preliminary Finals

1st Preliminary Final
Shanes Superboots 2638
Power Rules 2478

2nd Preliminary Final
FNQ Trotters 2582
Northern Cats 2519

The Division IV finals continue to go according to script as the hot favourites duly qualified for the Grand Final next week. Shanes Superboots have been the best team in the Hogg all season and they topped the scoring yet again with a muscular 2638 which was too much for a game Power Rules to cope with. Good news Gilligan, you get to play the Superboots again next year! FNQ have qualified for Division III for the second time after enjoying their best season in the Hogg and they accounted for Andy's Northern Cats in a high quality Preliminary Final. The Cats can be aggrieved at missing out on a Grand Final berth after scoring such a brilliant score but it was a high scoring week in SuperCoach.

FNQ Trotters are the only team that comes close to the Superboots but you'd think Shane will kick on next week and claim the flag.
