Lions v Eckys will be the game to watch this week. Both teams may need to double trade for injured premiums to give themselves a chance at Top 4 / Top 8

It is interesting because I think I'm no chance for the top 4 even if I win both remaining games. So whether I go all out this week but really "all out" would only mean trading Robbie Gray because Sicily has to be traded regardless. So therefore there's only one change for me to make at this stage and so it is up to the SC Gods.

Taranto and Shaw are the two guys I sweat on every week and usually how they go dictates how my whole team goes because the rest of my team is fairly standard I think.

And IVe got four Port blokes so the last game is the clincher. Ollie and Rockliff. Both uniques in this league and very important players for me. Took a real chance on both and haven't had both fire at the same time yet.

Never mind that, the reigning premier will be fighting for his Premier League survival this weekend. Pool Swimmers in top form lately so Delicious will want to shut the door on them this weekend. Poon Army would be happy with that result as well because his percentage is shit and he has Benny Rolfs last round.

@Hondo trades in Loyyyyyyyyd for Sicily and put the VC on him, this giving up the Gawn Captaincy option. Reckon big Maxxy could do anything against the Cats at alphabet stadium tonight.

I couldn’t VC Gawn without loop options after the Freo game

We both missed Titch’s 177 in the end

Port players bar Gray screwed everyone this round

That one hurt. That might be my season done. Rockliff is no good and I'll trade him out before my Piglet Shield finals campaign. I also threw away six points when I loopholed Miochek. Didn't think TMac would Ron up at Cat Park. If I get through we might meet again.

This particular scribe is in mourning after Hondo defeated the REBCats with a kick after the siren to record a famous two point victory. The loss sees my boys drop all the way to 10th and even a win against the out of form Longwood Lions might not be enough to save my bacon. Ouch! The Cats were replaced by Captain Who, a side that has been the superior scorer, especially late in the season. Benny Rolfs is cruising at the moment and they added another big scalp to their belt when they cleaned up second ranked Has Been who tumbled to fourth spot as a result of the loss.

Inner Sanctum and FISH also joined the 2600 club in a high scoring round of SuperCoach with plenty of coaches copping a defeat in this evil league despite carding some pretty good scores. There are eleven teams still in the running but it might be difficult for Q Before You and the REBCats to snaffle a top eight spot in the last round. The last top four spot is between Hondo and Has Been with the Beener's solid percentage locking out a few of the other contenders who look like they might be in reach.

The relegation battle is wide open at the moment as well. Poon Army are in real danger now as Pool Swimmers notched another victory at the expense of Delicious. Poon has to beat top ranked Benny Rolfs to survive and rely on Q Before You to defeat the Pool Swimmers who are now one of the form teams of the comp. Poon Army is one of two original Hogg Premier teams that participated in 2007 so it's a lengthy stay in the top flight for Hammo. Two other former premiership winners Richo Richo and Delicious are also not safe yet but Buddy and the Sharks have a better percentage and appear safe. Hippys have locked up the spoon and are going down.

I butchered my VC/C choices against benny rolfs and it cost me 99 points! Can't afford to do that against good coaches

Hogg Premier League Finals Eve Preview

Back when I could be arsed I used to write regular previews for the Hogg Shield. For this last round of the Premier League it’s time to revive the practice. About the only things that have been decided so far after 16 rounds is that Benny Rolfs have won the minor premiership and Hips Don’t Lie have bagged the spoon and will be in Divvy I next year. For everyone else, it’s all to play for.

Top Four

Honey Badgers has been top most of the year and Inner Sanctum have also been in the top four most weeks. This week those two sides square off for the right to finish second on the ladder but they won’t play again next week unless Richo can knock off Has Been which is unlikely. I reckon Inner Sanctum look steadier in recent weeks and they get second with the Badgers probably finishing fourth. Has Been should win and grab third. Hondo should beat Buddy Franklin but Has Been should beat Richo and grab third spot to play I think Inner Sanctum.

Top Eight

I think the Captain makes the eight as he plays Hips Don’t Lie who have nothing to play for. I expect Captain Who to win that match so they finish sixth. Hondo will beat Buddy and finish 5th. FISH deserve to start favourites of Delicious but valleys is fighting for survival and will pull out all stops to get the win this week as they can go down. I’m still on FISH so for me they finish 7th. That leaves a few sides fighting it out for 8th spot. Longwood Lions v REBCats is critical. Eckys Fevolas in ninth are waiting to pounce but their match against Sharks is a real fifty fifty match. I think the REBCats season ended last week and that Alaska will hit back with a win over my boys. The REBCats can’t cover DeGoey, that’s a big loss for me and it’s not great news for Ecky either. Got a trade I can borrow mate? Mathematically Q Before You are a chance but I think Pool Swimmers will defeat them and they will stay in 11th spot. So I think Longwood Lions can hang on and I think the places from 5-11 will remain unchanged from this round. But I hope I’m wrong as I so often am when it comes to Hogg predictions.

Relegation

Someone else who will be hoping I’m wrong is Hambone as I think Poon Army is playing his last game in the Premier League this weekend. If Poon Army goes down that would make the REBCats the sole survivor of the inaugural Premier League (won by Poon Army) of 2007. Poon Army has the toughest task in the league, defeating a white hot Ben Rolfsburgers. Now Benny Rolf doesn’t even have to look at his team this week so he probably won’t trade and he might even go fishing. Well, that’s what Poon are hoping for anyway. Unfortunately for Poon Army their percentage is shithouse. 17th Ranked Pool Swimmers are now one of the form teams of the competition and they’ve been outscoring this week’s opponent Q Before You regularly over the past five rounds so I expect Pooly to win and Poony to lose. Richo Richo and Delicious are also in the gun for relegation should Poon pull off the great escape. Both of these sides have a worse percentage than Pool Swimmers so all of these coaches will be stressing this weekend.

TLDR
Inner sanctum to beat the Honey Badgers and finish second. No change to the top four or top eight. Pool Swimmers to survive with Poon Army being relegated.
