I need a big game from Mason Cox today if I'm going to get up in my game against Has Been.

Me = Fritsch + Cox + 49 points
Him = Oliver + Petracca

Halfway through the 12th Hogg Premier League comp and the contenders are starting to edge away from the pack. The Honey Badgers have hit back with a couple of solid bye week wins to re-establish their early season leadership claims and Benny Rolfs are also putting a fine stint at the crease as they won the match of the round against Inner Sanctum to go clear second. The promoted sides have made their presence felt as both Inner Sanctum and TEAM FISH have established their championship credentials with a solid first half of the season.

A couple of sides who traditionally inhabit the top six have struggled this season. Reigning premier Delicious is having a rough trot and Hips Don't Lie are faring even worse. 2016 premiers Richo Richo are also stinking up the place an even Hondo is on the outer despite continuing to score well. The REBCats have snuck back into the top eight after a rare victory over the Captain but after a round 10 wipeout the Cats now have to concede percentage to the likes of Has Been who are on the rise. Q Before You is scoring well and Poon Army not so well but both are 5-6 and still in the running for the top eight. Meanwhile the Pool Swimmers cant buy a win and at 1-10 they will be struggling to avoid the drop from here.

18 Pool Swimmers 1 11 0 24064 25407 94.71 4

Honey Badgers are still on top of the Premier League ladder despite a last start loss to the reigning premier Delicious. Badgers might be leading but Benny Rolfs and TEAM FISH have made out like bandits during the bye period and they are putting the heat on the honeys and that sounds a bit suss. Hondo has done what he has been threatening to do all year and break into the top eight at the expense of the REBCats who put in a pathetic display against Has Been who were far too good.

Down the arse end Hips Don't Lie and the Pool Swimmers are in real trouble. A two game gap plus percentage is going to be very tough for the Hipsteers to reel in and the Poolies aren't swimming at all a further game back again. This is good news for some teams struggling for form at the moment such as Poon Army, Sharks and REBCats. The loss of Treloar has effected some teams and if you are even luckier you have brought in Harris Andrews as well for the quinella. I need that sort of luck in order to get back into this comp becuase unfortunately for me there are far too many sides that don't rely on luck at all. Looking forward to ending Poon Army's season next week. ;)

18 Pool Swimmers 2 11 0 26573 27633 96.16 8

What was looking like a massive scoring week went a bit pear shaped with Ahern and Fyfe but someone forgot to tell Pool Swimmers the news because they smashed out a 2500 to pound Hondo in what was a brutal take down by the bottom side. Hips Don't Lie also rebounded strongly and Delicious also got the W which was too bad for Poon Army who couldn't get the job done in the Ipswich grudge match against the REBCats.

The Q Man appears to be back in town after they flogged Honey Badgers who have now lost top spot on the premiership table to the always consistent Benny Rolfs who have been solid as. Kudos to Alaska who has his Lions up to third spot, don't remember seeing that too often so the Longwood Lions are certainly roaring. The Captain though, has been a bit sink or swim this year which is most unusual for Groover. So there's been a change at the top and for the first time this year signs of life in the relegation zone.

Game on four to go.

The Run Home Round 14

How are the challengers shaping up with one month to go? If you aren't in the post, your team is crap. Sorry. ;)

1. Ben Rolfsburgers 40 (Honey Badgers, Captain Who?, Has Been, Poon Army)

Three top eight sides in the last month for the league leaders with a soft kill at the end with the lowest scoring team in the league in Poon Army. I reckon Benny can win another three and maybe even all four of these matches. The danger games here are the top of the table clash with the Badgers and the match against Has Been.

2. Honey Badgers 36 (Ben Rolfsburgers, Richo Richo Man, Hips Don’t Lie, Inner Sanctum)

A couple of real toughies for the Badgers in Benny Rolfs and Inner Sanctum. Hips Don’t Lie also won’t be a doddle seeing as they are right in the relegation dog fight and the lowly ranked teams sometimes conjure up a last stand that can upset the applecart for top four contenders. I reckon the Badgers only win two of these.

3. Longwood Lions 36 (Inner Sanctum, Hondo SCC, Sharks, REBCats)

The next two are tough for a Alaska but if they can beat Inner Sanctum then the Lions will be looking at a top four spot. I reckon he can pinch one of the next two and beat the Sharks and the REBCats and make the top four in what has been their best season in the Premier League to date.

4. Has Been 32 (Delicious, Q Before You, Ben Rolfsburgers, Richo Richo Man)

Has been is in top form at the right time of the year and I’d expect them to win three maybe all four of these matches on the run home. Delicious might not have played their best SuperCoach this year so that might danger game and Has Been has earned the right to start favourites against Q Man. Benny Rolfs is the tricky one but you couldn’t discount the Beeners on current form. Should go top four.

5. TEAM_FISH 32 (Hondo SCC, REBCats, Buddy Franklin, Delicious)

If FISHy can get back to his earlier form then all of these are wins. In recent weeks though TEAM_FISH has been a little inconsistent and an inconsistent side wins two of these four matches, but three is the most realistic number. REBCats and Hondo look the toughest opponents in the last month.

6. Inner Sanctum 32 (Longwood Lions, Eckys Fevolas, Sharks, Honey Badgers)

That’s a pretty tough run home for Inner Sanctum with four contenders to play in the last four weeks. If they make the finals they would have done it the hard way. Despite their good form earlier in the year, I can’t see any more than two wins from this lot and they could only end up with one.

7. Q Before You 28 (Captain Who?, Has Been, Poon Army, Pool Swimmers)

Q Man has a massive match this week against his old rival the Captain. Win that and Q Before You makes the eight. Can’t have him against the Beeners but you’d back him to come home with two wins over the final fortnight. Should make the eight from here.

8. REBCats 28 (Pool Swimmers, TEAM_FISH, Hondo SCC, Longwood Lions)

The Cats have been struggling for scoring ever since the bye period and will need to lift their rating to win any of these final four matches. If the Cats can get over the Swimmers this week then I reckon we pinch one more and hang on to a spot in the eight but the REBCats are the vulnerable side for the teams currently looking for a spot.

9. Captain Who? 28 (Q Before You, Ben Rolfsburgers, Richo Richo Man, Hips Don’t Lie)

If they can beat Q Man the Captain should be able to make the eight with Benny Rolfs the obvious tough match here. A loss this week with that poor percentage though probably ends his season.

10. Ecky’s Fevolas 26 (Hips Don’t Lie, Inner Sanctum, Longwood Lions, Sharks)

Ecky will need to win both matches against the teams he heads and maybe beat one of the top eight opponents to sneak into the eight. That extra two points is crucial now but they do have the percentage advantage over Hondo if 8th spot comes down to that.

11. Hondo SCC 26 (TEAM_FISH, Longwood Lions, REBCats, Buddy Franklin)

With three top eight sides to come and an inferior percentage than Ecky, Hondo has to beat two very tough opponents in the next two weeks just to stay alive. I only reckon he gets one of them so he might just miss out this year. At his best Hondo wins all four but despite scoring well this season there have been times this year when winning matches has proven to be problematic.

12. Buddy Franklin 24 (Poon Army, Pool Swimmers, TEAM_FISH, Hondo SCC)

Buddy needs to win the next two in order to keep their season alive but then they play against FISH in a match which could make or break their season. Buddy has been off his tucker in comparison to recent seasons but remains a finals chance and won’t get relegated like he did four years ago.

18 Pool Swimmers 3 11 0 28908 29923 96.61 12

Benny Rolfs have earnt themselves a handy two game buffer at the top of the Premier League ladder with three to play. With the rest of the comp scrambling for top eight spots Benny can sit back and preserve trades this week and maybe next as well while we all smash each other trying to qualify. The Honey Badgers are slipping down the table a bit now as the modest Has Been has now snaffled second spot and away from Benny's spot in the finals draw, nice work if you can get it.

A couple of close matches could be crucial losses for the teams that dropped them. Relegation threatened Hips Don't Lie were flying this time last year but their eight point loss to Eckys Fevolas has them right in the gun to return to Division I. Meanwhile last ranked Pool Swimmers have woken up with their second win in a row at the expense of the REBCats. These two results means REBCats out of the eight and Ecky in with Hondo also closing in on the top eight after their big win over FISH.

Richo Richo hasn't had much to cheer about but they appear to have avoided relegation after their eight point win over the Sharks. Spiro got 2404 but that wasn't enough to keep their slim finals hopes alive. Another team who look like they've avoided the drop is the Poon Army who finally scored a decent score to put the banana skin under Buddy Franklin who have lost that winning feeling.

I wouldn't say it's Benny's flag to lose as he has come so close in the past but his main rivals would want to be keeping their powder dry in July to tackle the league leaders in August. As for me, I'm keeping my one trade left until it's too late to do anything so I can complain about how close I got.

High scoring Hondo led the way this week with a big win over a suddenly wobbly Longwood Lions with a massive 2629 which topped the league. The Lions now look a long shot to make the top four while Hondo looks good for the finals with a vital match against the REBCats this week. The Cats had their fair share of luck over poor old FISH who had Nic Nat AND Kennedy but only fell five points short as yours truly pulled off another shitty captaincy choice. Out of the top eight go Captain Who who were flogged by the top side and Eckys Fevs who were dispatched by a quality outfit in Inner Sanctum.

Q Man is in a bit of bother now after going down to the Beaners but perhaps a side under more pressure is Poon Army. Poon has a poor percentage and the Pool Swimmers are suddenly in top form and fighting hard to retain their premier league status. Poony and maybe Delicious need one more to stay up. No such luck for Hips Don't Lie whose current stint in the top flight is officially over. They will be in Divvy I next season.

Any chance of a shit one this weekend? You've outscored me nearly every week. You'd be dark if the REBCats got up this week. ;)

It is interesting because I think I'm no chance for the top 4 even if I win both remaining games. So whether I go all out this week but really "all out" would only mean trading Robbie Gray because Sicily has to be traded regardless. So therefore there's only one change for me to make at this stage and so it is up to the SC Gods.

Taranto and Shaw are the two guys I sweat on every week and usually how they go dictates how my whole team goes because the rest of my team is fairly standard I think.
