Round 3 - Let the Games begin!

Postby Rik E Boy » Fri Apr 06, 2018 8:36 am

The sound of mouseclicks and corrective trades form the backdrop to the eve of the head to head battles in the Hogg. Matty Kruezer owners hang on to your hats he looks like he'll line up tonight but the Catters are playing silly buggers in the west with gun rook Tim Kelly named as the sixth player on extended interchange. Surely not? The Saints have swung the axe after bad Friday and The Fog has been dropped by the Cows.

Crouch & Rayner out Oliver & Ryan in. Can't believe I started with Rayner!!

Going to have to ride the Greene injury out & save trades I think. Annoying.
If you can keep your head when all around you have lost theirs, then you probably haven't understood the seriousness of the situation.

traded out Naughton and Mills for LMurphy and Geary early in the week but have reneged that trade since.

going tradeless and holding onto them as I always seem to run out far too soon.

captain pick this week is a tough one, have Fogarty who I can use to loophole but only really Fyfe as VC and those scores won't be complete before I have to make the call on the skipper... Gibbs or Laird are at the top of my list and maybe Parker or Buddy

hopefully I get the rookies right this week as every other week my bench has outscored my field players and my captain choices have been woeful so far.

I gave up on Greene, figured he'll be very handy but will end up missing a heap, traded him and Menegola out for Oliver and Taranto, leaving me with half a mil in the bank for upgrades in the coming weeks.

I'm harbouring a few duds though.

Traded out Daniher for Taranto, but not sure if it's the right move.

Daniher set to cop a decent hit in value BUT I reckon he might go big this week (and over the next few). Taranto about to jump nicely in price and is a DPP, but it takes my number of GWS players to 6.

Thoughts or advice be greatly appreciated

I traded Daniher out too.
I reckon I have my rookies all right, going to let Bonner go and stick with Naughton.
Ive stuffed up on some specs so need to fix them, but not sure which priority.
Have Sicily, Green, Daniher, Deledio up forward and Saad, Naughton down back which are all a concern.
Crouch out doesn't help me either.

Ended up
Daniher and Crouch out
Boak and Parker in
Leaves me 250K to look at possibly bringing in Grey or Danger next week, pending what I decide with Greene, Sicily etc.
If you don't like it, change it. If you don't want to change it, it can't be that bad!

I got jumpy on Sicily and traded him out along with the non-scoring Dow. Replaced them with Taranto and Coniglio. Problem is I stupidly selected Greene again. I have Fog as well so I'm playing Fritz and Ryan this week with no forwardline back up. I've missed out on Bonner and Murphy down back but Marchbank shapes as a decent POD. Hoping for a competitive score but not sure if that's enough to defeat the mIghty Buddy Franklin.

Dammit!

Made some corrective rookie trades.

In: Lachie Murphy, Billy Gowers
Out: Aaron Naughton, Zac Giles-Langdon.

FYFE goes BANG! Loopholed his 160 but only had Stephensons 33 as emerg. fritsch with 56 or Garlett with 64 i could have had instead.

Scoring well with 1790 from 16. Glad i didnt trade Mills our in the end, he tonned up!

Only really heater Shaw let me down with a 69 otherwise sitting pretty...

Ratugolea, Henry, Crowden and Callum Brown all on the bubble ready to replace him.

I'm not sure on any of these in terms of job security

I reckon Crowden has the best JS, Ratugolea next. Henry will be gone when Taylor comes back, is Brown a rookie price?

12 weeks is too long to hold on to him so i'll trade out Ryan for Frampton.

swap Frampton to the RUCK bench with Tim English because he's been going alright

if Frampton plays great, if not then either him or Fogarty (unless he comes back in) will be my loophole skipper.

Yeah that didn't look like 'an ankle' when I saw it live. Tough break for Ryan who looks the goods. Exciting player, hope he makes it back.
