When most of the leagues were busy slumping like a Scott Morrison poll result, Division III really got on it's bike. Already there appear to be six very competitive outfits with the top scoring team in the league somehow unable to win a match in the first two rounds. This could mean as early as Round 3 that there are probably about 8 teams playing off for the last spot in the eight. It will be interesting to see how it pans out and if the magnificent seven can keep things going, although JOBBY will soon find out that big scoring means nothing if they can't pick up a few wins in the next few weeks.

The big game this week was the clash between the two top scorers in the league, Magpie Mafia and JOBBY'S ELITE. It was one of the games of the round in the Hogg with the Mafia somehow collecting 2300 in a week when so many couldn't get to 2100. How in the **** did he do that? JOBBY might be asking himself the same question. His 4500 points over two rounds of Head to Head action has netted him precisely ZERO wins on the premiership table. OUCH. That's gotta hoit.

Things are looking pretty grim for the bottom four teams on the premiership table. They will need to find something very soon or it could be a long season ahead for them. Duromine Dependent are one side who aren't scoring all that well who have managed to bag a win and that win could become crucial when it comes to deciding which four teams go back to Division IV next year. My lad Cub looks to be in this group.

The standard of Division III this season has been very high with this league currently outranking Hogg Division II. The premiership favourite at this stage is Ross Weeding's Magpie Mafia who have been the high scorers and the head to head champs already this season so they might be looking at racking up about 15 wins here. The Mafia's latest hit was against the previously unbeaten Killer Wombats but it was the Magpies who swooped and now Roscoe stands Geelong-like, a game clear on top of a crowded ladder.

The Wombats have been joined by a number of sides who have been quite consistent this year in the Willies, Woolballs, The Dukes and Blighty Teasdale who are all in top form. One side who was up with these guys up until last week were the Kiwi krappers. The Kiwi was a pre-season fancy based on scoring patterns and he has scored pretty well this year as expected but he was shocked by last placed Cub whose FootyLegends sprung the surprise win to hand last place to the hapless Failed Creation who haven't fired a shot this season.

There are a couple of teams in the bottom half who might be wondering why they are down there but spare a thought for DAISYS mate JOBBY. While JOBBY has been ELITE when it comes to scoring his defence is about as good as Melbourne's. JOBBY is the runway top scorer in the league but this has only resulted in just one win for the first month of the season. Sooner or later it will turn around for the ELITE one but right now he must be wondering what he has to do to get on a roll in Divvy III.

Division III has been pretty strong so far this season but this league did not fare well as a collective over what was a tough SuperCoach round. It was business as usual for the top three sides with the Mafia remaining at large and in charge with a comprehensive win over a battling Moneybrawl. The Magpies are being chased by two main contenders in Blighty Teasdale and Woolballs who won and won well. Blighty had a brilliant win over JOBBY whose scoring form dried up completely. It's always a worry when you score big every week and don't win because that week will come where you score bugger all and bang there's another loss. We now have a unique situation where the league's top scorer is sitting in the relegation zone with just one win in the first five rounds.

Another side who scored well this week was FootyLegends who claimed their second top four scalp in succession after being in the relegation zone two weeks ago. The Willies and The Dukes did not score well but scored well enough for victory which was a cruel blow in particular for Failed Creation who are the only side without a win so far this season. The Kiwi's form slump extended another week with his narrow loss.

A special hats off to the middle of the road teams I don't seem to mention that often. Browny has been building of late and after a bit of a no show in the pre-season period he's now got three straight wins and is right behind the Wombats. Divvy V premiers The Bye are starting to crank things up and it was a good win to CDFC65 which means the Bulldogs are clinging to the eight. Woof!

The Mafia can sit back and watch the rest of the teams squabble it out now that they have a handy two match buffer with ten to play before finals. It's been an awesome run by Ross and he is going to have to stuff up plenty of things to avoid going into Division II next season. Top team, top scorer this week and unbeaten, it's all going very well for the Magpies so far. Funnily enough, the main challenger isn't even in the eight although JOBBY has started winning matches which was due to happen due to the ELITE scoring patterns of that side.

If in ten weeks Browny has made the finals and the Kiwi misses, it could be the result from this week that decides it. Browny saluted by 4 points in a crucial result which would have had the Kiwi kicking the cat. Another coach who might be doing the same is Herbie who lost a high scoring match to Failed Creation who opened their account for the season.

The Magpie Mafia have continued to steamroll the division after a crushing victory over the Cub. While Killer Wombats and The Dukes are the nearest contenders on the table perhaps the main challenge will come from JOBBY who finally clambered into the top eight after rolling top four side Woolballs.

If Herbie can find any consistency he could become a real threat after posting a league high 2401 in their destruction of lowly POWER while Moneybrawl made Cub look good but didn’t cough up quite so many points. Browny dropped out of the eight while CDFC kicked on and consolidated their place in the top eight. Creation are stuffed after getting rolled by fellow relegation fancy Duromine.

On the surface it's just another standard Divvy III week with the Magpie show rolling on. However this week the Mafia were upstaged. Browny went bezerk racking up 2400 while The Dukes, Blighty and even relegation zone POWER DRULES smashed out a 2300 which would all have been enough to end the Magpies' run. Whether this is a sign that the Mafia's hold on society has been loosened or not remains to be seen.

The lower sides shook a leg a bit this week with DRULES getting a solid win as did Failed Creation. Moneybrawl and FootyLegends were less lucky scoring well but not well enough to get the win. This could spell trouble for ZedForce and The Bye who appear to be just out of reach. In top eight land it was Browny in on the back of his huge score and JOBBY out. For some strange JOBBY isn't getting the job done in terms of wins and this could cost them a finals or double chance place if they don't right the ship shortly. Meanwhile, Killer Wombats, Blighty Teasdale and The Dukes are all slipping away.

It seems that the Killer Wombats and The Dukes have decided to skip away from the pack as they try to keep up with the runaway ladder leader Magpie Mafia. A lot of teams in the top eight were rolled this week which means up to five spots are now officially up for grabs in the top eight of this league.

On the way up JOBBY has made significant inroads at last and Herbie has also found a way in after some inconsistent form. Blighty look safe as the Mafia hasn’t lost to anyone but Browny and Woolly are on notice and they need a win soon to consolidate. I think it will be very tight around the middle of this ladder due to the dominance of the top sides in this league. The relegation battle is pretty tight as well with no stand out dud sides which makes for a very strong league. POWER DRULES put in a shocker after recent good efforts but hey that’s the bye week and Zed dropped closer towards the end of the alphabet while Moneybrawl had a fighting win over top 8 CDFC.

The bye season causes upsets and so was the case again this week as Browny knocked off the previously unbeaten Magpie Mafia off their perch. Browny’s score wasn’t massive but it was more than enough for the Mafia who rolled out a bit of a bakery. The Dukes were the big winners this week as they beat Killer Wombats in the match of the round. Duromine Dependent and The Bye aren’t too upset by this bye round as they celebrated by winning their matches and moving into the top eight.

The news wasn’t so good for JOBBY who put in an absolute stinker as they scored a somewhat less than elite 983. Herbie cashed in with a big win with the big fellow now one game behind Blighty Teasdale who doesn’t look like he’s about to give up his top four spot soon. Another team to feel the brunt this week was ZedForce who hit rock bottom as a lot of the bottom teams won. Best of these was Moneybrawl who topped the Hogg with an amazing 2083 as they went on to smash woolly by a massive 850 points.

The Mafia and the Dukes have skipped away at the top of the table after third ranked Killer Wombats were rolled by relegation threatened Failed Creation in the traditional bye round boilover. At the bottom of the ladder the relegation zone teams are fighting hard to stay up and there has been some big scalps claimed this season by battling sides fighting to survive in Divvy III.

The main action this week centered around the centre of the ladder with JOBBYS ELITE rolling Duromine in a close one to leapfrog them on the adder. Magpie Mafia's conquerer, WeBrownAsOne had that upset win taken away from them when they were stunned by FootyLegends who turned out a bumper score seemingly from nowhere. Cub has now gone from 'relegated' to 'finals hopeful' over the bye period which has been most kind to him.

In the relegation zone the bottom sides have all shown something throughout the year which has led to this league doing well in the rankings. This week it was ZedForce's time to shine with a vital win over POWER RULES as Zed got off the bottom and put the POWER in their place. Both sides scored really well so some bad luck for the POWER in that match. Failed Creation also got the chocolates as mentioned which puts pressure on Moneybrawl who scored so well last week and Kiwi Krappers who are sliding close to the relegation zone as well. The Willies are another side who are starting to droop with some severe shrinkage imminent.

Magpie Mafia suffered the same fate as many top of the ladder teams as they fell to just their second defeat of the season at the hands of a resurgent Woolballs. The other top four sides took advantage with The Dukes now the form team of the completion after a thumping win over The Bye who lived up to their name this week. Blighty is also looking good and all of a sudden the Mafia aren't the lay down misere that they appeared to be prior to the bye period.

Duromine Dependent scored a good win which was vital as some of the teams just outside of the eight in The Willies, CDFC and even Moneybrawl look capable of challenging. It was a bad week for the Kiwi who fell into the relegation zone with Zed and POWER DRULES looking likely Divvy IV combos next year.

The Dukes have rolled Magpie Mafia and are the new kings of Divvy III after the Mafia suffered its third loss in five games. While not a great time to lose form the Mafia has done enough to stay ahead of JOBBY and earn the double chance and a front row seat for promotion next season. Moneybrawl continued with its late season run with a 400 point smashing of top eight Herbie which was bad news for struggling FootyLegends and Kiwi krappers who also had to put up with ZedForce and Failed Creation collecting victories.

The top five look safe this year but plenty of teams are in the hunt for a top eight berth still after Herb, Duromine and The Bye all had a wobbly one. Despite being the lowest scoring team in the comp, The Willies are somehow back in business and Woolballs are also on the rise after cleaning up the cub. It was business as usual for Killer Wombats and Blighty Teasdale who are continuing on with impressive seasons so far this year.
