Magpie Mafia is on the lam and gone up to Division I after a Divvy I side retired. The replacement part is called JOBBY THE GOAT and he has also called himself JOBBYS ELITE. Although he hasn't actually won anything, he will tell you just how good he is and once again he gets his chance to show it. Imagine a Grand Final between JOBBY and Daisy? They'd both lose LOL. JOBBY starts off as the number three seed in this league and all jokes aside they already look one of the teams to beat in this division.

Geez it was hard work organising this one but finished the league is young jedi. Plenty of new faces due to a couple teams pulling out in the top three divisions so a whole new look for us Divvy II regulars. It's a big welcome back for @Ron Burgundy who won the Division III title then promptly retired. On the comeback trail he is now back into the very league he qualified for years ago. Despite all the changes, this league is very close in standard to Divvy I. It's Divvy III that copped the drop off.

The par score for this league this year is 2166 which is actually three points higher than Divvy I thanks to the efforts of @Arch44 who spudded up massively in Divvy I last year LOL. The season par for this level is 49817 so my Strutties have some work to do to remain relevant. As many newly promoted coaches in this league can attest, the post season promotions are a good way to advance in the Hogg structure. The only way to get promoted on points this time next year is to join the Hogg Shield group as I will be using the SuperCoach tool rather than working it out manually. When you call yourself JOBBY THE GOAT you better deliver or you are just giving yourself a jobby but job's first round performance was really ballsy and he will provide stiff opposition this season. Jobby should be on top of the ladder and deserves to be but an absolutely pathetic Straycat Strut gave the top of the ladder honour to JK whose rooters flogged the Cats like a redheaded stepchild. It started badly for Straycat and then somehow got worse as the rooters romped to victory. Ouch.

While Straycat Strut continue to stink it up, one side who has mended their errant ways from 2019 was FNQ Trotters who carded a top score to sink the returning Far Callers. Wiggbros put in a solid first up match and Greedy Guns and the FOG were also good in their first match. While no one stunk it up quite like the cats it was a good effort by Killer Wombats and especially Underbelly who demonstrated Cat like point avoiding capabilities.

Greedy Guns have lived up to their name with a high scoring spanking over bottom placed Underbelly. In a round where the scores were slashed the Guns remained greedy to post an impressive 2047. Not too far behind where FInntastic Hawkers who have been playing a lot better in Divvy II than when they were one of the regular also-rans in Divvy I for years. They cracked the 2000 mark as well as they accounted for Blighty.

At the top of the ladder there are three unbeaten sides after three rounds as The Far Callers opened their account against the previous league leaders Reuter Goodnproper. The Rooters went hard early but flopped in the end and had Far Call to show for it. THE FOG has drifted into first place as the man formerly known as The Indian went on the warpath. FNQ Trotters are certainly back in form after a puzzling 2019 season and they were far too good for Cossi. JOBBY can still call himself the GOAT for another week after they got the chocolates against Kelly Creation's True North.

A few teams opened their account on the weekend besides the ****. Chops Clots were far too solid for the Wiggs while Straycat Strut didn't bother chasing Killer Wombats around as they carded a most unimpressive victory on the back of a sensational performance by Captain Rosey. That leaves Underbelly on the bottom without a win but she gets Strut next week. Most teams should be pencilling that one in.....unless you are the Killer Wombats!

JK's rooters got back on the winning list against the previously unbeaten FNQ Trotters in what was the match of the round in round 4 of Division II action. It was a tightly fought affair but JK emerged victorious to stay ahead of the Greedy Guns in the top four hunt after the Guns enjoyed an easy win over the Dukes. THE FOG and JOBBY are the teams to beat so far as the only two unbeaten combinations and them along with the three sides mentioned are the teams looking at a promotion to Divvy I if the poll decides that promotion is still on for this season.

Wiggbros are another impressive side and they got back into the top eight after a lapse in form as they accounted for True North who are all of a sudden struggling to win matches. The Killer Wombats had a ridiculous turn around in form this week - after somehow losing to the hapless Straycat last week they then pounded out a 2240 to smash Finntastic Hawkers. Blighty saluted against the Far Callers while Underbelly produced their best form of the season to account for Strut who despite producing their best form of the season, still couldn't crack it for 2000. It was a difficult week in SuperCoach for the best of us never mind the rest of us. JOBBY and FOG have been the dominant teams of Division II so far this season and in Round 5 it was clash of the Titans with the FOG ruling supreme over JOBBY who transformed into a suddenly disorganised rabble as the wheels feel off in no uncertain terms. I’m starting to suspect that JOBBY doesn’t actually exist as whenever DAISY stinks it up so does JOBBY and do Hawk supporters actually have mates? The question must be asked surely. While DAISY, I mean JOBBY was failing his exam, FNQ Trotters hit back from their defeat to the Rooters with a flogging of Blighty. The Rooters remain a threat as they were too hard for the Carnts and most top sides except for Greedy guns (upset by Herb) had a good week.

It’s getting harder to make a case for anyone outside of the top eight with the exception of The Dukes who lorded it with a league high 2138 over a desperate Staycat Strut who are improving slowly, but perhaps not quickly enough to make the finals this season. Finntastic went Underbelly up while the normally consistent True North are heading South at a rapid rate. Divvy II coaches struggling to get a win might be interested (although they might not) in the fact that Divvy II is very close to Premier League in the rankings this season, being about two hundred behind. I’m currently last so all I can say is ease up a bit you lot!

The Far Callers roared back into form with a stunning victory over a gallant Underbelly. Underkelly hasn't been scoring well this season but pulled out all the stops against another side struggling on the ladder. It was a great win by the Farcs in a match that was a higher standard than expected as per ladder position. THE FOG is the best team in the Hogg so far this season and their brilliant form has helped lift Division II to almost Premier League standard this season. This week's victim was the Wiggbros who seem to have a big difference between their best and their worst. A team to watch out for in this league is The Dukes who smashed Finntastic and are getting the job done in recent weeks and have consolidated their spot in the eight.

JOBBY and FNQ Trotters both won through in tight contests against top eight sides in important eight point games. It wasn't the tightest game though as Blighty and Cossi played out the first draw in the Hogg this season although the draw probably doesn't help either at this stage, Blighty is still out of the eight and Cossi is now second last. True North are in unfamiliar territory on the bottom but she's too good to stay down there for too long. Kelly Creation must be wondering where her next win is coming from....probably against Straycat Strut who managed to get off the bottom of the ladder after a solid win over an unimpressive Herb.

THE FOG has settled all over Divvy II and the unbeaten ladders are the team to beat in this very competitive league. Two years ago JK dominated this league but after a shocker in Div I last year, he is back as Reuter is 6-2 and looking a proper premiership and promotion candidate. FNQ Trotters was another good side to have a poor year last year and like the Rooters they are back in town. JOBBY is also playing very well but none of the teams in the top four would be all that happy to play the in-form The Dukes in a Qualifying Final this year. The Dukes are in fine form and starting to really rack up the points. At this stage my prediction for promotion would be The Dukes and FOG.

There are quite a few teams battling out for the last couple of spots in the eight which is what happens when the league has a good ranking like this one does. Chops Clots have been solide while other the incumbents Golden Guns and Frosty will be looking over their shoulders for nearly every other team in the comp. Wiggbros are certainly a side who look finals bound even though they are currently outside the top eight. Only Wiggy will know how they managed to lose to the league enigma Straycat Strut who are somehow 4-4 even though they can barely score a point. Killer Wombats appear to be on the slide while Herbs N Spices look to be hot right bow. The Far Callers are a returning side that are also very up and down...relegation one week, finalists the next who knows what is going to happen in this league.

There are some quality teams currently sitting in the relegation zone. True North have been a brilliant team for all of their Hogg career but this season Kelly Creation can't buy a win, hopefully that continues this week against Strut. Blighty is another side who aren't used to being in the bottom four but here they are. After a decent start to the season Blighty is now having a Peckerlike trot and is currently in the doldrums. Finntastic are going about as well as Clarko's mob but Cossi's Carnts and Underbelly are showing signs of life so nothing is set in stone here. I reckon the only team I am confident of going the drop is Finntastic but True North badly need a win or time will start to run out for Kel.

THE FOG is sitting pretty two games clear and with an awesome squad of players but I’m liking the look of The Dukes to spoil the applecart Chops, Reuter and FNQ Trotters are also going to go into the queue for the miserly two spots on offer in Division I next season. In one of the comebacks of the season Straycat Strut have managed a couple of scalps to somehow remain in the finals hunt. Straycat coughed up a nine hundred point start to the field but has since won 4 out of 5 to be on the cusp of the eight. Another team trying for the great escape is True North who have lifted after suffering a barren run of form. Ironically, it was the win against Strut that has reignited Kellie Creation’s season. Cossi will be one coach not happy with True North’s return to form but Blighty and Killer Wombats look like returning to their Divvy III home with Finntastic in all sorts.

Update

The wheels have gotten a little wobbly during the frenzy for top of the table FOG and this week they face a white hot Far Callers who are going to be a major contender for the Divvy II premiership. After overcoming a slow start Ron Burgundy's Far Callers have hit back to the top form they showed in winning the Divvy III flag a few seasons ago before opting for an early retirement. Now the Callers are back and the heat will be on the FOG big time. I reckon the Callers salute but FOG will hang on to claim the minor premiership.

There are a number of top sides Duking it out for the two promotion spots and dare I say it, The Dukes are one of those teams. The Dukes have been in cracking form for many weeks and they will go in favourites to end Underbelly's season this week. JK's Reueter Goodnproper has rediscovered that winning feeling after an awful year in Divvy I....surely he doesn't want to go back up there, they weren't too nice to him last time. But JK is back in town and the crudies could return to Divvy I action next season. After taking twelve weeks to scrape into the top eight it might be hard to look at Straycat Strut as a flag chance but after a horror first month the Strutties have now hit back with seven wins in eight matches to somehow keep their season alive. Comeback's on boys!

It's not all boys up here though with FNQ Trotters another side to bounce back to form and a shoutout to Kelly Creation who completely lost her way and was last for many weeks after Strut vacated the basement. Now True North are heading that way and even though they are only half a step ahead of Cossi, I'm backing her to win again this week in a result that would send the bottom four down. Blighty was very stiff to lose a close match and it could be that 14 point loss to top eight contender Herb that seals their fate this season. Finntastic has also returned to his old form and notfor the first time, Matteeee is headed for the drop and will be battling away to avoid the spoon.
