Hogg Round 2 - I do I do I do I do?

Postby Rik E Boy » Wed May 20, 2020 4:39 pm

Greetings sports fans, just clearing out the tumbleweeds. It looks as though we are on like Donkey Kong with the next match on Thursday June 11. Only three weeks, that's **** all compared to the shit that hasn't gone down lately. Maybe the break between rounds 2 and 3 will only be a month and we can really generate some momentum.

Anyhows, it appears the no neckers are getting five trades for their resumption this week, so we might expect the same thing to happen in the real SC as well. Watch this space Hoggsters!

completed my 5 trades for the first time this week, pretty happy with it. 78k in the bank
In Howe Out Cummings
Hill Zerk Thatcher
Ceglar MacPherson
Long Bontempelli
Naismith Coomben Naismith comes in at R3, cant see how else we can make money this season

Will potentially swap Hill for Noble but not that keen on Noble.
Next week in comes Bennell and Rankine, at this stage im giving Sturt a wide birth, 10 touches and 3 goals for his 100 points, likely to be his season highlight and by a fair margin.
Bontempelli will be about 520k in 3 weeks time, hopefully Naismith goes nuts and i can just about get him back with one trade. will bank another 40k next week swapping Green to Bennell so Naismith only has to get within 128k of the Bont.
Not keen on McInerney from Swans or Gould if he comes in, Horse has said they are likely to rotate players so that their fringe players get game time and once their season is over in R5 he will rotate even more.

Would love to hear some other thoughts about your 5 trades

It's definitely about the money this season Daisy. I agree on Sturt but with trades not the issue it is during other seasons he might be a good money earner even if he doesn't ton up again. McInerney looks the goods for me and they are still relying on the same old campaigners in the middle so I don't think he will get the Gould treatment down back. Mid rookies aren't exactly falling from the trees this year so I'm happy with his start as I selected him in round one. Ditto Brown and to a lesser extent Budarik.

I did a few correctives. Swapped out Gawn for Grundy as I just can't allow Grundy to towel me up every week and expect to stay in Premier. I went Nathan Jones at the back and that cost me as I ended up wearing McAsey's **** all as well as Starcevich. I did manage to select Howe and Simpkin though so not a complete loss and I agree with you about the Bont, his breakeven is huge now. Like you I got sucked in by McPherson so like Tommy in Snatch, I want a gun that works.

The Bont will bounce back, early wins are massively important this year and I'm not sure I would be trading him for a mid pricer or a rookie to bank a bit of coin. When Bont goes bang, he goes bang.

I agree on the Bont trade out but I think he will ton up against the Saints. What he won't do though is make his b/e which is why I agree on the Bont trade. I reckon Gawn falls short as well.

Yeah, I canned the idea, even with the shorter quarters there will still be some 150+ scores.
