Definitely going to have to give this some consideration with future trades.

That's perfect, weeks 2 and 3 of the byes will be bringing in players that byed in week 1, week 3 of the the byes should pretty much be how you're finishing off the season barring any injuries to premium players and when they decide to rest your gun player while you've got another injured while another gets a week for a bump.

To answer your question WHUFC about the byes, to be honest its too late now to worry about it, sure it can solve a flip of the coin decision on two players but your fate is essentially sealed. The serious players have SC Gold which highlights for you who is playing in the bye rounds. You can attempt to win all 3 with good planning but most sacrifice 1 week in order to win the other two. The 1st week is the best to sacrifice, as other players will sacrifice week 1 and then you even become a chance to jag a win in week 1. You can then trade in players who had their bye in week 1. We get 3 trades during bye rounds, if required you can even trade players playing in week 1 before week 1 to get a head start on your upgrades. You should be close to full premo at end of byes. Im currently 17, 23, 19 but counting players likely to be in your team is more accurate.
Its worth paying the $20 bucks or whatever it is for SC Gold. I pay for a Herald Sun subscription of $28/month, which includes SC Gold, if you want more than just Crows and Power news its worth it, you get the Advertiser included anyway, cheaper than buying the paper everyday

And if you have Gawn and Grundy in week 3, dont worry about it, most other coaches do too

I think you've mis-counted, or I have. I have 19/22/19, 5 premo's out in the middle week too, and that's without getting Macrae in.

Just having a look I'm running a tad short 19/19/16...…

It can be a great tool to solve your dilemna when you cant decide between two players.
Dont worry about the 16 in week 3, that will correct itself with your trading leading up to that.
It looks like you could be in a position to have a crack at all 3 weeks for the W

Im caught in a dilemma with blokes like Dow and Campbell, there about to hit their peak money but I cant help but wanting to hold onto them because there job security is so good.

With the byes coming up I would hate to think I make a Campbell to Lachy Jones type move (I know their different positions) and then by the time the bye comes Jones is back out of the side and im having to use another trade just to fill a team.

Not having played in a few years....do the good players have a full scoring side for each round of the byes or is that simply impossible.

Campbell has peaked, 71 BE, Dow is a gug.

Re. Campbell, the thing to consider is his BE vs. trades, potential cash generation and lack of rookie options around atm.

I am holding, prepared to cop a small loss this week whilst that 29 drops out of his rolling average. I am hoping to draw 60-70k out of him (achievable with a 50 average) whilst accumulating points and waiting on downgrade/upgrade options to emerge.

Yeah but when does his ton drop out?

He's only got over 56 once, his 63.5 average is heavily weighted by his 118, it's 45 if you minus that out, we wouldn't even be discussing him at that rate.

But he does have a 118, no reason he cant do it again.
Now if we were talking about Scott, McNeil, Brockman etc id agree with yoiu

Personally you will be kicking yourself if you don't take the 134 and Gawn goes under. If he goes over its probably only going to be by 10-15 points. You would take 134 from your captain every week if you could.

Yep, was in a similar position with Dunkley so took his 137 (since scaled up to 148). Max might well go higher by 1-50, but just in case he fluffs his lines ...

Im sure youre not alone, i dodged that bullet, i didnt want to pay that much coin for him so i went Bowes who had his worst game for the year but at least he'll play next week.
Ridley will be a perfect target at upgrade time and should pick him up for about 500k

Dodged the Ridley bullet

Thinking Witherden might be a good upgrade target, though his scoring may drop once Hurn returns.

Stoked...finished with 2339.

Missed all the Ridley, Houston carnage, albeit Laird and Docherty went off with knocks at various points in their games.

If I upgraded Campbell to Macrae like I was going to I would’ve got the highest score in SuperCoach overall, spewing

Yeah, you got me!!!!! I didn't upgrade as I listened to you and thought I'd preserve my trades for later in the year and I thought I'd get the win this round regardless, I have a tad under $400K in the bank too so I can wait, I worked Saturday morning then had to umpire 3 games so that makes it hard to pick up on any changes or teams getting finalized.

I was premature anyway, my son informed me of my potential score but the total rankings hadn't updated.
