Pre-Season

A couple of no shows this season in Division I and Premier so both of these leagues will be sixteen teams leagues in 2024. In Premier League there will be no relegation unless the missing teams put in an eleventh hour entry as I'm hoping these two long standing Hogg coaches decide to re-up. These leagues have been closed to prevent randoms from filling the last two spots.

Work & family commitments have left me with no time to devote to this, and me fielding a side would be an embarrassment against the standards that Premier has set for itself for the time in which I have been a part of it.

One of the rudest things that can happen to you in SuperCoach is when you get the second highest score of the round and lose to the bloke that gets the highest. While this didn’t quite happen to Hondo, he can feel aggrieved that he’s posted the third top score and been beaten by nearly a hundred points. Yes it was a solid schooling from the Captain who appears to have a sensible side in at the moment. Meanwhile, the Roosters have gone the early Crow after trouncing the Sharks in a great start to their Premier League campaign. HORNY once again provided to be stiff opposition for Mediocre who wasn’t up to snuff in what is now the league’s biggest rivalry. Most of the other games pretty much went as expected with most of the league scoring well. DAISY bottomed out at 2008 and you’d think he might have made a Sicily decision when picking his team this year.

A few of the teams that didn’t do so well in the season opener announced themselves in bold fashion in the second round of Premier League action. Poon Army marched all over Punky who was more chump than punk this weekend with the biggest score in the league and a handy percentage booster. FISH couldn’t be caught by a floundering Mediocre who are a bit like Collingwood at the moment but at least his players are (virtually) running. The mighty REBCats avenged the loss to Jobby last year but not before the goat staged a brave fightback thanks to massive scoring by the Gov of all players. Of the unbeaten sides, only the Captain topped 2000 with the others claiming victories with ‘merely’ par scores. Reigning premier HORNY looked anything but with a particularly soft victory on the weekend over a suspect Willies. Inner Sanctum was rect while Summer of George was decidedly cold this week. Over both weeks the Sharks are looking off the pace while Willies and DUDs are also like Mediocre in starting the season slowly. Ecky and Roosters look like guns again. Any chance of letting the rest of us play?

The Premier League performed strongly in a low scoring round with several coaches topping 2000 last weekend. But the boldest statement was made by reigning premiers HORNY who smashed out a muscular 2131 in what ended up being a 200 point win as over Sanctum who tumbled as badly as an Australian gymnast to fall out of the top eight. Ecky, Poon, Mediocre and top scoring Hondo all scored convincing wins but ladder leaders where lucky to survive a late charge from the battling the battling REBCats who came home with a wet sail and Elliot Yeo to have the Chooks sweating on Sunday evening but alas no roast Chook for me. The Willies and FISH pretty stiff to lose after scoring well but Punky and Jobby screwed the pooch and were never going to salute on the back of those scores.
