Lightning McQueen proved to be the unlucky coach in the first round of Divvy IV actin as Brodlach rolled out the heavy hitters to post a muscular 2219 which would have won him matches in much higher company. Minor round stars Bonts Neighbour assumed their regular spot at the top of the ladder when they made mincemeat of Trades of Glory who already look like they might be in for a long season with one of the lowest scores recorded in the Hogg this week. A solid start to Port Power Champs, STAR MIDFIELD and Flys Flagpies who are showing at least on Pies team knows how to win matches this season. Apart from Trades of Glory the other disappointing side was Robsquad who wouldn’t be happy with his opening round effort.

Round 2 of Divvy IV action was all about close matches and unlucky losers. 2000 was an above par score in SuperCoach so if you get 2000 in Division IV then you are entitled to think you’ve banked the four points. Not so for the luckless STAR MIDFIELD and Young’s Young Ones who lost by 2 and 3 points respectively after scoring over 2000. Fantasy Virgin popped their cherry with the high quality win while the Bulldogs got the job done in the other squeaker. Bont stayed on top of the ladder with another decent score and already they look the team to beat in this division. The One Point kickers smashed out a league high 2024 with Heater in career best form at the moment. The kickers were a former Divvy V struggler, but now a Divvy IV contender. The Heater is on!

In a lower scoring week of SuperCoach there were a couple of results which stood out in Division IV action over the Easter Break. The first was the frankly ridiculous result by Go Tiges who smashed out a massive 2079 on the back of Captain Gawn and Nick Vlaustin (come on, who has him?) to stun CDFC1965. One Point Kickers new identity as SuperCoach legend continued on as they made light work of the last placed Red Devils in a percentage booster that puts Heater on top of the pile. Anytime Turtles won a big clash against Bonts Neighbour in what was a very poor week for the Bont. With all the other leading teams in the league getting the job done Bonty carded a subpar 1647 which saw the Neighbours cough up five spots on the premiership ladder. Some blokes like Brodlach are born lucky as they got the four points after failing to crack 1700. Trades of Glory most unlikely to see any this season.

Young’s Young Ones have been unable to break through for their first Hogg win but they have managed to score their first points of the season after drawing their match with the unbeaten Flys Flypies in the first draw in the Hogg Shield this season. Meanwhile, yours truly as the Div IV ring in Pigs Arsenal, cruelly destroyed the last placed Red Devils but don’t worry boys I’ll stuff it up. Needless to say, Pigs Arsenal is not eligible for promotion to Divvy III next year. Go Tiges clambered into the top eight at the expense of the Bye and Brodlach Bombers ad Smashed Crab also won important matches this week. It was a bad round for Bonts Neighbour who crashed to their second loss in three weeks and Trades of Glory who barely troubled the scorers.

Heater’s One Point Kickers kicked a bit of Pigs Arsenal in the 6th round of Division IV action to mark them as one of the big improvers of the Hogg. Heater has been hanging around Divvy V for years but has taken his chance in Divvy IV this season and they now look to be a strong contender for Division III next season. Flys Pies are the new ladder leader after Pigs’ demise and the are the only unbeaten side now after six rounds as they comfortably accounted for Go Tiges. Smashed crab smashed the unlucky Dogs who scored a reasonable score but the Crabs scuttled to a solid victory on the back of the leading score for the round in the Division. Hogg rookies Dodge the Hodge is keeping the heat on the Anytime Turtles for a top four spot and down the arse end it was finally a victory for fellow rook Youngy and pre-season seed Robsquad also got in on the action. Still no love for the Devils or Trades of Glory.

Division IV this may be but that didn’t stop top side flypies and top eight Smashed Crabs from belting out huge scores on the weekend. Port Champs and Rob could feel aggrieved by losing by three hundred odd points after posting over 2000 down here but this what happened to the poor buggers. Dodge and another 2300 team Turtles have kept the pressure on the top sides while other contenders such as Bonts Neighbour and Brodlach Bombers bounced back to top form. It wasn’t such a good round for One Point kickers and Pigs Arsenal who dropped another one. Go Tiges and STAR MIDFIELD look the best out of the eight while Fantasy Virgin showed signs last week. Trades of Glory did not however and they dropped to stone motherless as Red Devils opened their account against the Bulldogs in an upset result.

Flys are still the league leader but the form team of the comp at the moment is Bont’s neighbour who has strung together a solid block of victories in recent weeks. Smashed Crab and Pigs Arsenal were the scoring stars in what was a big round of SuperCoach scoring with both teams sitting comfortably in the eight at the moment. STAR MIDFIELD is another side who has been steadily rising and in the what must come down category One Point Kickers have lost that winning feeling while stone motherless Trades of Glory still has the burger ring. Youngy has finally started to win some matches which is well deserved considering how well his team has been scoring. Game on b1tches!

It was a funky round in Division IV as the top four sides all lost on the weekend with the Pies, Bombers and Bont all getting done by teams outside of the top eight. Anytime Turtles get a pass though as Smashed Crab is a contender as is Young Ones perhaps who rolled the Bont. Meanwhile, Pigs Arsenal continued with their high scoring ways to take advantage of the top four lapse to sneak into second spot as the Pigs smashed the Porties. The real star of the round though was Trades of Glory who opened their account and left the Devils red-faced and stranded at the bottom of the ladder in a low scoring slugfest. Robsquad will be another happy team this week as they finally emerged from the relegation zone while the Tiges are also on the move as they bound into the top eight at the expense of The Bye.

Pigs Arsenal may be top of the tree but it was the Youngy and Bombers who stole the show in the first of the four-bye week festival. Trades were burning and stomachs were churning as the scores dropped and as did Fly, Smashed Crab, Go Tiges and especially Anytime Turtles who put in an absolute shitter. Youngy’s rehabilitation is almost complete. After a Charlie Dixon slow start to the season the Young Ones are roaring back into contention and with their scoring it’s hard to see them missing the eight even though they’ve yet to break into it. In struggle town Trades of Glory won their second straight match of the season and Bold City Barras won a 23-point win over relegation rivals Robsquad who’s brief revival was cut short. Brads Rookies also had a rare win which leaves Red Devils in prime position for the spoon.

Flys Flagpies are back in town after knocking off the former ladder leader Pigs Arsenal by 21 points in the match of the round last weekend. Such is the competitive nature of this division that Pigs’ narrow loss saw them drop three spots on the ladder after Bont regained top spot and inform Brodlach Bombers flew past the Piggies. The bottom half of the eight is also littered with genuine contenders for promotion and the premiership with a special shoutout to Youngy who gave up a fair start at the beginning of the season and now they find themselves in the top eight. Now that Youngs Ones are in there they might prove difficult to dislodge from the best of the chasing pack, The Bye and Fantasy Virgin who are capable but lacking the consistency of the current top eight sides. The relegation battle appears to be five teams fighting it out with four going down to the Bunny Bowl next year as Robsquad’s ugly season drags on and Trades of Glory’s brief rally was halted.

Brodlach has been on absolute fire during the bye period and this run of good form continued in Round 14 when they smashed the out of form One Point Kickers. The story of this round was a couple of hard luck losses by bottom four teams over premiership contenders. Battlers Trades of Glory has endured a lean season but they nearly landed a top four scalp when they lost by just three points to Pigs Arsenal who did not have a great week. Bold City Barras were in the same sinking ship when they were defeated by four points by top eight side Smashed Crab who scuttled to victory. Youngie has been struggling all week to get into the top eight but as soon as he gets there what does he do? Gets flogged by Fantasy Virgin who promptly took his spot in the top eight. The Virgins are no first timers when it comes to success at this level as they won this division a few years ago and now doubt there’s a few Swannies in this team and that makes them dangerous. Bont stayed on top despite an ordinary score and Flys are still flying so the top teams are getting it done, if not all that impressively over the byes. It’s starting to look like a field of 13 with CDFC being the last team in line that look like they can still make an impact. Can’t have Hodge or Kickers who aren’t consistent enough.

Robsquad has pulled out one of the upsets of the season when they sensationally got the drop on highly rated Bonts Neighbour last round. The squad’s 51-point win could be the result that keeps them in Division IV next season as Brads Rookies and Red Devils both had wins that don’t help them that much this weekend as a result. Flypies still number one but Brodlach is ticking along quite nicely with the scoring and he is looking the part as a Division III coach at the moment. Anytime Turtles and MIDFIELD struggled this round, losing to fellow top eights as the star performers were usually from the lower reaches of the ladder. Dodge was especially one who burst into life after losing their way in recent weeks. Apart from Brodlach, Dodge was the only team to cash in on the SC bonanza that was last week as they pumped the hapless Glory who find themselves on the bottom again after the Devils got up. Last week I talked up Fantasy Virgin and no doubt Amy will be hoping I don’t do that again because I put a might mozz on them as Go Tiges won easily and took her spot in the top eight. Sorry about that Chief!

4 of the top 8 teams in Divvy IV got the staggers as a heap of upsets were ushered in during Round 17. Relegation scrapper Brads Rookies set the tone with stunning upset over the league leaders in scoring when the Rooks kicked Pigs Arsenal. Fellow relegation scrapper Robsquad added to the boilover flavour of the round when the upset 5th ranked Smashed Crab in what has been a rare win for the squad this season. They needed it too with the Rookies getting up to keep the heat on. Brodlach’s Bombers crashed to earth after getting Dodged by the Hodge and Fantasy Virgin continued their pattern of losing every time they scramble into the eight. Bont topped the scoring for the week to keep the pressure on for the ladder leaders and it was a good week for Go Tiges and Port Power Champs who got back on the winning list and for Youngie who is back in the eight with his young ones. On the nose after a great start to the season is One Point Kickers who are looking more and more like a Division V side each week. Trades of Glory has already booked their Divvy V spot next season.

Flypies have asserted their dominance over Division IV in Round 18 when they had a comprehensive victory over Bonts Neighbour in last weekend’s top of the table clash. Pigs Arsenal and Brodlach both had wins so this has put the pressure right on the Bont as Flypies skip away to a six point lead on the premiership table. Apparently Fly has been on the blower asking if they could spare a couple of premiership points as the real Pies are decidedly light on at the minute. It was a round when the battlers had the biggest say as Robsquad and Brad’s Rookies both scored well to post vital victories with the relegation battle starting to heat up. STAR MIDFIELD was another side who scored well when they put the kibosh on Youngie and as a result of that Go Tiges is now back in the eight. Round 18 saw the second confirmed relegation as Red Devils will now join Trades of Glory in Division V next season.
