One job!
Not entirely disgraced going down to the Nix 3-2 though and they did the right thing in the women's comp by losing to the Mariners again! :D

Time for a new AU coach I feel and I'm a big Carl Veart fan when he was a player.
What's going on?

Thank you Man City for beating the Nix, gives the Mighty Mariners a chance of top spot tomorrow.

No coach in the world could do much with the United squad.
Club won’t send any money and ship off anyone who they can get decent money for. Playing a lot of kids and blokes not up to it

They spend more than Central Coast and the Mariners don't seem to be doing too bad.

Not A-League but Australian soccer.
Found out tonight my favourite Adelaide City player of the 80s and 90s Steve "Maxi" Maxwell passed away.
Was only about 58.

Steve and i worked together at John Martins warehouse at Lockleys just before his football career took off. Sad times.

Great to see Nestory get a hattrick and even better to see his celebrations afterwards.
Really weird that my favourite player in the league plays for my most disliked club.

Mariners win 3 nil and through to that AFC Cup Final and a much tougher run of games than the Western Asian teams with many more games.
Playing a team from Beruit but in a safer Middle Eastern country with a guaranteed purse of $1,000,000.
Awesome effort.

Minor premiership up for grabs tonight - Central Coast v Adelaide United at 6.30.

If Central Coast win or draw, they win the trophy. If AU win, Wellington will have their first ever piece of silverware.

Mariners win 2 nil for our first premiers plate in 12 years.
The little club that can keeps on giving!
My mind wand wanders back to when we lost the first 4 games of the year after losing most of our championship side and our coaching staff.
As I left one of those losses at Himdmarsh some Adelaude United peanut ripped into me telling me we'd go nowhere this season. 8)
Anyway, 2 trophies down, onto the AFC Cup on Monday morning in Oman.

So United finished with a record of W9 D5 L13 F52 A53, in eighth spot, a fair way off finals.

Our 52 goals scored is the joint-most this season. In terms of away goals, we averaged about two per game - easily the most in the comp, pretty much a Manchester City-like number that. Our problem was at home - if we hadn't been so bad at home through the middle of the season we might have scraped in to the finals.

I really struggle to name any defender who played well this year. Most are simply not up to it at A-League level.

Clough will probably win the Aurelio Vidmar Medal, merely on account of his consistency. I don't feel that any attacking player really stood out (Irankunda obviously had his moments), but when you score as many goals as we do, attack ain't the problem.

Bit hard to see things improving next year. The club won't spend any money, and the defence needs a complete rebuild. Hard to find positives and it's probably fair to start wondering whether Carl Veart (currently the longest serving A-League head coach after four and a bit seasons) is the man to take the club any further.

The Mighty Mariners become the first Australian team to win the AFC Cup overnight in Oman!
That's 3 trophy's down this season to the reigning champions!
What a club, so proud.

Wow, I gave us no chance in Sydney tonight after only getting back from the Middle East on Tuesday!
Just a draw away from me seeing my first game in Gosford live, come lads! :D
