I cant recall us troubling the goal last night. Whilst we did well enough in limiting melbourne to primarily long range shots we never looked like we were going to threaten. Not sure why Aurelio never tries 2 up front? Biggest concern for Adelaide i think at the moment is that Cassio is really starting to look jaded. Need to somehow freshen him up for the finals. Will be a tough ask for the boys to back up again on Friday night.

Without having seen many of Melbourne's games against other A-League clubs I'll throw this question out to you guys ... Are Melbourne as physical in their intent and method against the other clubs, or do they take it to another level against a club they think is susceptible to it?

Melbourne always look so organised at the back when we play them ... I know we poked a couple past them at Hindy earlier in the year (1 from a penalty that should never have been), we we really seem to struggle to get in behind them.

Playing a 4-1-4-1 formation doesn't help either.

I think it was the Wellington game where Viddie started a 4-4-2 with Dodd & Cristiano up front. Looked a lot better.
Cristiano is only a little bloke, and having spoken to him a few times re formations etc, he prefers a "bigger" body up front
along side him. He' s more of a hold the ball up and set up a goal type of striker, then a out and out goal poach.

Play those two up front or hell even get Ago back in ! Then play Doddy and Cassio on the flanks with Reid & Barbiero in the centre.

Back four start the same. We need to be more attacking and not sit back so much. The other thing is Cristiano gets a shitload of ball, but too often
has no-one to pass off to, and the ball he gets is too far out from goal.

Viddie seems to be a good coach, but tactically he's stuck in the rut of having a lone striker....Time to get two up front.
The joy of being on the hill drinking beer cannot be understated

Does Viddie coach in the old 1-0 Italian style, or do you think he selects his formations more based upon the talent at his disposal?

To be fair With Agostino crocked he hasnt had too many chances to play 2 up front (i dont think Younis has done enough to suggest he commands a starting spot). however in games when we need a goal or at least more attacking options he usually replaces Cristiano for Younis but rarely tries them together.

Will be interesting to see what might happen should Ago get his body right for the last few rounds....

Bloody garbage effort. Showed nothing going forward and we only had one decent chance when Cristiano should have scored.

The marking on the goal was abysmal too.
