Deliberate handball

The deliberate handball in the dying minutes of the AU v Newcastle game was ridiculous. The ball was clearly going into the net yet you can only be awarded a normal penalty kick. You should get a shot at goal with no goaly positioned.

with the current rules i would do the same thing ....if the old dud carl veart hadnt stuffed up the kick then we wouldnt be talkin about this....

if the other old dud had committed himself to a challenge mr channel nine ross then nick carle would not have gone 70 metres....

wake up kossie ...

Pretty harsh to call Carl Veart an old dud, he has been very good this year and even the best miss penalties. Roberto Baggio for instance?

I reakon the fact that we still rely on Veart so much is a worry ... He's been a wonderful player don't get me wrong, and whilst still having plenty of ability I just think his Legs are too slow now.

Mind you he's not the only one you could say that about at times ... Ideally to be a dominant kind of lineup you'd have someone better at CF or striking with Veart off the bench.

Fair call on the penalty too, Stevie Gerrard missed about 4 in a row either last year or the year before, so it happens to the best of them.
