Postby Sam_goUUUdogs » Tue Nov 07, 2006 10:28 pm

3 away games in a row.
Off to Brisbane this weekend, backed up by Sydney the next week, followed by Gosford for Romario's 1st game.
anyone spare some change?

2-1 to AU this week i think.

I've always wondered how anyone can afford the time or money to follow a sporting team around the nation (or world) for a whole season. Whether it's an AFL or A-League cheersquad or the Barmy Army or the Fanatics. It's an amazing effort and I'm sure you'd take many great memories and experiences with you that you don't get watching on tv. Do you get discounts or sponsors? Do you fly or drive? Does any other forumite travel far and wide to follow their sporting team regularly?

i have only missed 2 games this season, and probably only 1 more, next season i plan to go to them all including NZ.
there is always a few other United supporters @ the games.
im flying for the 1st 2 but Gosford is a free bus put on by the club, as was the 2 trips to Melbourne this season.
for the money it is worth it, its a great way to see Australia @ a young age, and the memories of the away trips stay with u for a long time, plus its better than wasting my money on nights out or things like that, like i would if i wasnt going to away games.

The GM's that the club put on are fantastic. Unfortunately i will probably have to wait until next year or next season before i go on one.

We better play better than the last time we played Qld, should have lost 10-0, lucky to get out with a 0-0 draw. They are coming off a loss to the kiwis so hopefully we can roll them and start our chase of the victory.

Studies and the lack of funds that comes with that makes it a little bit difficult, and the last game against Melb was on my birthday so i didnt go then. I would love to head to Melbourne for the finals and take on those arrogant Victory pricks, reading the gate forum it sounds like the last trip was an absolute blast.
