Re Jim's post, you're probably right but there's not really much to 'get' with the midweek concept. I mean it's just matches in the middle of the week.

I'm surprised how unpopular it is given that we only usually play against nine different teams in the A-League. Surely people would be interested in seeing another team once every few years? Having said that they do virtually nothing to promote it.

Probably a bit comes down to tradition, in Europe for example they have been playing midweek fixtures for a hundred years and it's just routine and the normal thing. In Australia and definitely in Asia there still seems to be a bit of reluctance for midweek sport.

Hard to pull* crowds to midweek sport when we're so crap and playing against blokes most have never heard of.
I like the ACL, but I'm lost as to how to improve crowds.

Dropping the ticket prices might help. It wasn't exactly expensive ($30) but it may help. I went to the first one but not the second.

I think the fact we are doing terrible cant help either

United get the win on the road against Jeju United and move to 2nd in the group

3-1
Goals to Kim, McGowan and McGree

Regan and McGowan and i think McGree all miss the next game against Gamba Osaka

Amazingly, we're currently ahead of Gamba.
Don't imagine it staying that way for long.
We play Gamba, in Japan, on Anzac Day.

This club frustrates the shit out of me at times but take away my comments opening night I love the way Adelaide treats the ACL. Adelaide has played in more ACL matches than any other Australian side. Personally love this competition as it is a lot better quality than the A League.

Jeju's surprise win over Jiangsu last night means that United must win their final game, and Jeju must either lose or draw theirs for United to progress.

Jiangsu can't lose top spot so the talk is they will send a pretty weak side over here which helps the cause

Would like to see Teixeira and Ramiroquai but don't mind if a weakened team helps us get through. Need Gamba to do the business as well though, and they're playing away in an equally meaningless game.

Final match day, 7.30 tomorrow:

Adelaide United v Jiangsu
Jeju United v Gamba Osaka

For United to advance:
- United need to win
- Jeju must lose OR draw

Goal difference will not be a factor.

Hopefully Hindmarsh is packed tomorrow for could be the last game for a number of United stars and coach Amor.
