Adelaide United coach has resigned. Not surprising really after the results this season

Breaks your heart that Pep Gombou's grand plan has been torn to shreds in 18 months. United board needs a bullet! Absolute disgraceful way to treat an international legend of the game.

Do we know the circumstances yet? was he told to move on or did he leave voluntarily?
We seemed destined for a decent period with Gombau and then Amor topping it up nicely. Hard to believe we're in this state now.

He was gone back in February when his family started moving back home.
And I agree Jim, management are a real worry down there. Some of the things I've heard are unbelievable.

Amors results was the result of Gombau's work make no mistake of that. Still terrible handling of the entire situation from a bunch of "Proffessionals" running the club. I will always support united but the mob running the club need a solid kick up the arse for the way this year was handled in the public eye no matter what happened behind the scenes.

I have family members that are really close to the Armor family, and they always said they were told the family would only be here for a coupla years.

Whether Gui would have accepted another contract if offered who knows, but it always sounded like they knew they wouldn't be here for a lengthy period of time.

Also know someone else who's worked for AUFC and last month he was telling me how rooted the club is for $$.

It's true. All the money from GFs goes to the FFA.
But that's no excuse for the malaise the club finds itself in.
There is a lack of communication from the management to the players, plus to the fans - that seems clear from player statements over a period of time.
We really did not make enough of winning the title this year.

Yep all matchday revenue from the GF went to the FFA apparently.

The FFA also had a big hand in the $$ handed out to big name players like Cahill and Kewell.

Anyone know if ACL earnings still get pooled among all clubs, or do the participating clubs keep any $$ they make now?
