I think the ref was absolutely pathetic, he went to balance himself and got him in the face, he went down like a big girls blouse and once he got a red card he was up and smiling and back on in 2 minutes.

The thing that makes me so angry is the captain of the Victory its almost like he is a referee the way he gets in their face and influences them!

What made it even worse was the ref had a yellow card out and then Muscat gets in his face and screams and they see a bit of blood and red card comes out.

I think it was the linesman that influenced the ref. Question is, who influenced the linesman, because he did not raise a flag at the time ?

the ref had the yellow out, then had a word with the linesman then pulled out the red.

Don't profess to know much about the World game but if what I just witnessed was worth a Red Card, then Matthew Breeze is on Merrick's Xmas card list with plenty of money inside the envelope!

to be fair AU have done ok since going down to 10.

Melbourne have had plenty of the ball but not really hurt AU.

Now Breeze has given Saganowski a yellow for a late tackle after the whistle. Yet again another pathetic decision. No way was it bookable, and AU had already won the free for offside.

what is the point.

this is the 1st game I have seen this year from the A league, and have to say the quality of refereeing is much worse than in the UK. and I thought that was bad.

Too many Melbourne players in the ref's face for every decision.

40 mins gone still 0 - 0.

1/2 time. 0 - 0

You could say, AU have time now to re-arrange things, but I don't think there is much they need to do.

Melbourne have had plenty of posession without really hurting AU. I think the tactics will be pretty much the same for the 2nd half.

Keep it tight at the back, sacrifice space and try to hit them on the break. As long as AU don't get drawn out or play too deep, Melbourne haven't shown that they can hurt them.

I've seen 3 or 4 Reds games this year and until tonight, the umpiring hasn't been too bad. But agree, this is disgraceful with Tard players getting in the ref's face. Reminds me of that other turd Wayne Rooneh!

The red card was pathetic. Also, how did Ognenovski give away a free from that throw in in the 42nd? If anything he was fouled. Disgraceful.

Anyhoo, here's hoping we can nick one in the second half.

COME ON YOU REDS!!
