they aint members thats why....and alright Im not a member either but mainly cause I cant get to all the games to justify it and am happy to pay cash to go to the games I go to, also get to go for free sometimes when my in laws arent using their tickets...

that being said I knew it would be tough to get tickets to the final, and I totally agree with members getting first crack....therefore I made sure I got tickets by having 2 people line up EARLY at 2 of the smaller less popular outlets...do the research and put in the time and you would have got tickets, depended on how bad you wanted them...

I knew full well they weren't members mate, hence shouldn't be whinging ... Everyone looking for tickets yesterday had equal opportunity and as you said it came down to organisation, preparation or in some rare cases, luck.

Would have like to gone but we leave Adelaide the day before the game. So hope there is a pub or somewhere that we are staying overnight shows the game. Also hope that they bring at a DVD of Highlights of Adelaide in the Asian Champions plus the the final both games

Apparently a guy bought 2 tickets from a line-up, scalped them when it was sold out and profited over a grand (apparently). The person who paid that incredible amount of money could have saved a tonne of money by paying the $60 or so membership fee and ordered them online days before this.

That's the stupidity of this situation.

Bacause people had the membership option, there should not be a market for scalpers. If all tickets had been sold to members, I could understand there being a market for scalpers, but this goes to show the stupidity of some people.

Mental.

Are there any long distance options ? I'm a member so I just renew when the notice comes out and don't take much notice of other options.
If there's not, you should contact the club and get them to get one going. I know my AFL team (Carlton) have one, which I'm a member, and also the Bays just have a membership option that doesn't include games. Worth pursuing....

There have been a heap of people take out memberships, to secure a ticket/s which is a good thing too....

There are no country memberships or anything at the moment as far as I know. Rang up and asked at the start of the season. If there was an option to be a member and have the option of booking in for 4 games or something for the season we'd certainly do it. It just seems stupid to buy a ticket that gets you in to every game when you know you won't be able to get down to all of them.

NS - I don't think there are any country memberships.
However, I've been toying with forming a Riverland Adelaide United Supporters Club...you interested?

They do sell non-ticketed memberships for about $60. That gives you priority to purchase tickets for games like the ACL and A-League finals

I haven't heard of them. They are obviously not very well advertised. Also, I did actually ring up the club during the off-season to ask that exact question and was told that you had to buy a season ticket. If I knew they were there I certainly would have one.

For your info CP, I have jagged a ticket and will be attending the match, and will be driving for 3 hours on Wednesday afternoon to get there, and will be driving the 3 hours back home straight afterwards. Sounds like a die hard fan to me. Remember everyone doesn't live in Adelaide. Also, don't mistake people not quite knowing the right way to go about jagging a limited amount of tickets for a lack of support. There are plenty of people I know of who would go to at least 3/4 of Reds matches that missed out on tickets for this one. That means there must be some who don't go to any who have bought tickets.

Yeah, Dogwatcher, a Riverland supporters group would be a good move I reckon.

A couple of the guys that I work that got tickets for the final only decided to start going when they heard Rivaldo was coming to town.

One of them couldn't even remember the last time he went to a match. I don't think either of them had to been to an A-League game at all since it's inception.

My point was that anyone who's not a member all had to use the same means to get one, meaning noone should complain about missing out by rating themselves as truer supporters when it's completely irrelevant.

Glad you got tickets anyway mate and hope you enjoy the game!

Ah, the good old roll call.

For obvious reasons I can't make it, but will be there in spirit.

If anyone has a stream for these matches, I'd be eternally greatful. Dinglinga was bang on the money last game.

Get in you Reds!
