Went out to see the United - Victory match on friday night. It was a fairly pedestrian affair by both sides. United didnt control the ball anywhere near as much as i'd expect, with Victory making the majority of the play. Kewell is clearly on another level, his touch and strength on the ball was quality. Once hes fully fit and in sync with the team he will dominate. played in the middle of the park and also switched between leading the line and playing behind the strikers. They will be hard to stop with Thompson, Allsop, Hernandez and Kewell. Was impressed with Caravella, controlled our play through the middle and has great touch. Slory looked much better, stronger and faster then his late spell last year. Ramsey is still useless! no way he should be in our starting XI, doesnt look at the box before he crosses the ball and its usually sliced out of play anyway. didnt see as much from Levchenko as i'd like but it was only a pre-season match. Galakavic should be the captain not Mckain. He always performs, controls the defenders and has been at the club for a while now.

Agree there TOS, it was still only a friendly and the players played it like so. Main thing for both sides was to have a good run before the season starts in less than 2 weeks, United also seem to fall back to the viddie tactic off hoof ball long to lone man up front, which is sad seeming we have all these keep ball and pass it around type players. I agree ramsey shouldn't start but he is that little bit diffrent you need sometime and yes I wish he would look where he crosses and maybe weights them a bit more but still handy for the squad.

Susak signed yesterday

I think we have the talent and importantly the 'depth' to have a fair dinkum crack this season!

the Victory's front line is more dangerous than ever though.....

cant wait for it to start!

Hopefully we dont miss-use him like we did when he was here last time and actually give him a crack, good player who strengthens up the back line some more.

Interesting that Adelaide United appear to be the only side in the comp to get an el-cheapo apparel supplier - must be the North Adelaide connection

I wonder whether Flores was here last week on a holiday or was speaking to the club about coming back? Club would have known that Slory was on thin ice.

Of the games i saw, I thought Slory was very ordinary, especially for someone who had represented his country.

I heard that as well, apparently the doctors have no idea what the deal is with his foot.

Coolen says we won't ask for an injury replacement, will wait until January. Susak to start at left back tonight.

I reckon we will win convincingly tonight, even with our injuries...

Now having said that, everyone should load up on the Jets, cos my predictions in the A-League are stunning in their crapness... ;)

C'mon Reds... (Please)...

If we're a genuine top-six side, we should win. The Jets are horrendous on the road.

Hope the rain doesn't hang around.

The club stupidly let him go. He wanted to stay, but they couldn't match Henan Jianye offer, and the 500k transfer fee was handy.

United miss him badly.
