John Kosmina

I think this season John Kosmina's coaching attempt at Sydney FC has confirmed the fact that the bloke is an ordinary coach, who is consistently unable to draw the best out of his playing group. With his current team I find it incredible that he is unable to develop and execute a game plan around star striker John Aloisi. Why recruit and pay the big bucks to a guy who is clearly not an important cog in their wheel.

It wouldn't be all Kossie's fault though. Sydney management would have a lot of say in Aloisi playing but he may be forced to quit soon....

Adelaide Utd have come out and said he won't be joining us as we can't fit him in the salary cap (I think they were just being nice about it though).

OK. First off, I'll say I'm not a fan of Kossie and think he his a bit of a wanker. BUT, for the squad he assembled at the start of the season, IF they were all fit and firing they'd be favourites for the title (Hey RM !). BUT this is where he and the recruiting team ****** up.

Starters. They signed Aloisi who was injured at the time as the marquee player. Similar to the Agostino signing for Adelaide. All that money and no dividend. He'll be lucky to play again this season and his future appears doomed.....

They signed Filan as a keeper, and even at the age of 38 wouldn't have been cheap. However that deal fell through, Filan didn't play but is the goal keeper coach where Bolton the usual number 1 can't get a look in.....

As well as Aloisi they also signed Colosimo, Bridge & Musialik. They would've cost a bit of money as well. There lies the problem. They splashed on some "name" players and therefore didn't allow a more even spread of funds and thus the depth is then tainted.

Hell after Saturday night It'd be luck if one or two of the Bling squad that played would make United's starting 11.

Make your bed...lie in it !

Ah Swampy, a couple of go's at the EPL fantasy comp, and he turns into Les Murray!! :prayer:

I think people in this game are very, very quick to blame coaches when things aren't going so well, but when the highest paid bloke in the league is missing from a metre, there's not much Kossie can do about that! Injuries (and Popovic's mid-season retirement) have killed them too. Maybe for a club that's had 4 coaches in 4 years, it might be time to try a bit of stability at the Bling. The other problem is, who are they going to replace him with? As it is with the ladies, unless you're moving on to something better, you might as well stick with what you've got! (Advice given isn't necessarily followed by the author!!!)

Anyway, to sum up, sucked in Sydney!!!!

Yeah, that's spooky mate! I hope you don't start a thread about me! Actually...can you?! I guess it was bound to happen with their history and new owners coming in. Sounds like the new bloke's got a bit of credibility, having coached Zenit St Petersburg in Russia, which is the club the new owners have had most to do with in the past. I guess the coach should be on the same page as the owners. But anyway, here's hoping they suck like they did this season! :D
