It might be a coup if he can actually get fit. Hasn't played for about 2 years or something.

I'd rate it a better signing than Agostino....

You won't get many arguments there but seriously... Fowler was awesome about 5 years ago but how did he go at Cardiff? Stopped playing in October I reckon.
Then signs him for Blackburn but how many games did he play again??
If he can get on the pitch then it will be a good signing as he is a natural goal scorer but it could be a massive waste of money... but I'm guessing you are a Liverpool supporter.

I agree with what your are saying but your talking about football in Europe which not only is it a much better standard they play twice as many games.
1 game a week in a slower competition I think for a brand new club to have a class finisher like him it is a pretty good signing.
And yes I am a Liverpool supporter but see it more about getting quality players albeit at the end of their career over to Australia their knowledge can only improve the game here.
At least he has signed on for the season not just a guest stint like Romario...

I wonder if Robbie Fowler could be the next Mario Jardel.....
Whilst a fully fit Robbie Fowler would be good for crowds and entertainment value i cant actually remember a fully fit Robbie Fowler since his first stint with liverpool. Can see him being a waste of money production wise but if he manages to sell out some games with the new franchise then it could be worth it.
Personally i think these "marquee players" are a bit of a crock. They seem to spend more time on the physio bench then the pitch. Happy to be corrected but I think only Dwight Yorke can be seen as a success. Failures off the top of my head would be Agostino, Juninho, Jardel & Aloisi.

Sadly, I reckon you'd have to go back a fair bit further than that ... Probably last decade.
