AFTER days of wrangling, FIFA ruled today that Australia's first-leg World Cup qualifier with Uruguay in Montevideo will kick off at 6pm (7am Sunday AEDT).

It is a compromise of sorts after Uruguay sought to move the kick off forward from 9pm to its original time of 5pm, when its plans for a late night charter flight to Sydney for the second-leg fell through.

So its a 6:30am Kick Off SA time, and for those intrested the stag is still a go, Earlier than 1st thought as they are putting on breakfast before the game, not sure exactly what time they are opening though.

apparently there will be Tv cameras and photographers @ the Stag.

i understand Urugay's issue with wanting to catch the first flight to sydney.... but really doesn't it make that much of a differance.

To use an old cliche...."At the end of the day, you still gotta put the ball in the back of the net"

I don't think getting to australia that fraction sooner is going to change that fact.

What a bunch of wankers, they think they a top shit. well they might be able to beat a team ranked 47th in world good on them. Bunch of champions. I guess if they win we can watch them suck in the world cup like they did last time. At least us aussies have got a bit of heart. Anyway, if all else fails do a Recoba......and thats to cry.
