Went to the united and victory game last night and was disappointed with the behaviour of some of our so called supporters. Weve come to expect it from melbourne supporters but us, geez. Why you would throw a cup of beer (I assume) onto their supporters Ill never know. Also the idiot who threw the bottle at the keeper was a disgrace. We are not in europe ffs. I hope the controlling body can find these culprits and ban them for life. There were more incidents but too many to list here.

I've been to every United V Victory game home and away and to say that only the Melbourne supporters did that sort of thing is completly wrong. They have both been just as bad as each other throwing things on the field and in the setting off of flares and the intimidating of each others supporters.

Its about time that the local press has actually put some of the blame on the AUFC supporters...

Ive been going to Hindmarsh for around 12 years, mainly when Perth come to play... The only times there has been trouble is in the last 3 season's and almost always instigated by the home supporters...

In someways bring back Adelaide City and West Adelaide... I never had to watch my back after the game in the NSL, and thats when we always won when we came here...

Think too many of the young United supporters have watched Green Street Hooligans and Football Factory too many times...

Completely agree with Duce and Mickey .. Our supporters have been an embaressment for a while with their 12 year old "chants" and their agro that comes with a mob mentality.

its unfortaunate thats its mostly the 16-18 yo's who think there heroes with there shite behaviour but if u guys have noticed ch. 7 have had an agenda against adel utd fans forthe last 5 years ..

as for never any trouble at adel city/ west adel maybe u have a short memory but there were many incidents with melb knights, south melb etc maybe ask ang costanzo about sth melbourne supporters and maybe some of the derby's in which there were arrests

but then its not only soccer but sport in general 22 ejected lets compare this to recent test matched and one dayers at adelaide oval or afl games where there is an increase of supporters ejected but also more ppl complaining about cups flying and being spat on

Nah Jtc this stuff only ever happens against Melbourne and sometimes Sydney, yeah there maybe incidents at other games but there nothing like what happens at adelaide v melbourne games

yeah there was trouble when south melbourne and the knights came to play, but i was mainly refering to when i was there watching perth, i always felt safe at those games, even if i was wearing purple

Spoke to a Copper bloke I know at the Footy yesterday, who was at the game working Friday night, and he said there was nothing untoward, and most of it was a media beat up....

And probably half the Melbourne "fans" are old West Adelaide fans stirring up shit.....

I take your point, that Soccer appears to be the sport the media uses to sensationalise .. There's probably been more incidents at the Tennis in Australia recently.

However, that doesn't justify the behaviour of some at these Melb-Adelaide games ... From what I've seen first hand, it does happen, and both parties are just as responsible.

I guess the A-League has successfully targeted the younger generation, but it's the young hot heads who see the foul language, taunting and violence as part of the experience, and falling in with mob mentality.

Johnnyboy, it would be nothing like what's taken place over in the UK over the years ... The disturbances I've seen at A-League games were pretty much avoidable for anyone who didn't choose to be involved.

CCTV will sort the morons out. It's massive in the UK both inside and around the grounds, these violent idiots will curb their behaviour when they can be identified. Also serves as evidence in court for any assault cases.

I would think the cctv inside the staduim, I all honestly there is actually not much violent contact between fans, just a bunch of 15 years olds dropping flares outside the staduim after the game and chanting f**K off melbourne that the adleaide media beat up cause there is nothing else to report. Not defending them but really there is nothing to it, not compared to overseas troubles

LOL The 2 Victory games I went to at Hindmarsh saw plenty of windmalls and courageous run through's outside of the stadium ... Made for entertaining viewing I must admit, but there weren't too many blokes from either side prepared to stand their ground, they all seemed intent on running past someone and swinging a punch without breaking stride and whether it landed or missed they kept on running lol.
