Not a great crowd in Melbourne for this game could of given the game to Perth or Adelaide and had a decent crowd, rather have a sold out 18,000 (either staduim) the 18,000 at a 50,000 staduim. Tell you the truth Oman should be 2-0 up already they are all over Australia and have forced Schwarzer to make some good saves. Australia have had plenty of shots but alot of them have been at the Keeper and Australia is also at full strength (as in Kewell, Cahill, etc). At the moment looks like Oman is going to nick a win.

Just watched the replay of this game. Excellent fightback and win with only 10 man in a difficult place like Oman. Oman have some very, very good players and a win away against them is a huge result for the soccerroos.

I have to say though, our defending was deplorable. Any of the top international sides would have torn us a new one. We could very easily have been trounced 6 or 7-1 Had it not been for the EXCELLENT Schwartzer and a few other last ditch efforts by Holman, Moore, Neill etc, plus some relatively poor finishing from the Omani's. Let's hope Pim can sort this out before our next qualifier and more importantly before the World Cup!

Every time I see Carney play, he impresses me. His brilliant, smart cross set up Emerton for his cracking half-volleyed finish, but full credit should go to Carney - it was a peach of a cross.

Then there's Schwartzer - what more can you say though really. I wanna boof him.
