And Adelaide loses the game after being 2 - 0
Unfit, negative & mentally weak, not only the majority of the players but the blokes in charge of them as well.
Bring out the broom, it's cleanout time! Oh, and start at the top too!

Tonight was the first game of the season i've been to. Finally a home game that isn't on a Friday Night that i can attend :D

We played well to be 2-0 up. Then the Red Card. I've only seen it live, haven't seen a replay yet, but although he was last man that challenge looked pretty weak and it was a soft red card. Yellow IMO. They scored the free kick and had the momentum. The referree continued to screw us over, paying fouls that weren't fouls and handing out yellows like lollies.

It seemed everybody in the crowd was against Owusu, but i didn't think he was too bad. He wasn't great, but did alright. He looked like he lacks the confidence to shoot, instead trying to set others up. Maybe Monterosso is an option for the first team. he scored a pretty good goal to win the game for the youth team in the 90th minute before the main game.

Leckie was awesome. He could be a smokey to make the World Cup Squad...
Galekovich was again great. Made two or three saves that looked like being certain goals.

Also may i add, Perth didn't even have their best player in the Squad tonight and still took the 3 points.

Fyfe will be able to play on the weekend. After the Match Review committe said the Red card should not being given.

To be honest thought I think it was a stupid challenge and possibly warranted a red, if the teams were reversed I would have called for a red.

Definitely a stupid challenge. You're asking for a red, even if it doesn't deserve one. Never give the ref a reason to think about a card, let alone get it out.

Im happy to admit i know bugger all about the game, but saw the incident in question and couldn't understand what all the fuss was about...can anyone explain what the issue was with what Fife did? Seems pretty poor that a decision is made and later reviewed and found to be incorrect....also didnt catch what the other red was for...anyone know?

Im fortunate enough to be able to watch alot of the reds games and over the last few years have started to enjoy watching them, but find some of the decisions and b grade acting make me want to switch the tv off because...even though im trying hard to get into it!

In honesty thought the red card was a reasonable decision, he was the last defender and clearly diverted of his line at the ball to make contact with the Perth player, if he had ran in his straight line he may have beaten the player to the ball. After watching in slo mo it's pretty clear Fyfe's eyes and aim was to take the perth player out the contest.

So at the end of the day he commited a foul while being the last defender which costed perth a reasonable goal scoring oppurtunity= red card.

Despite FA saying it was incorrect i wish more defenders would be punished for professional/off the ball challenges, in the same way that i think attacking players hould be punished greater for diving.

Watching it in real time I didn't think it was clear-cut enough to be called a foul, especially when the Glory player's touch was a bigger botch up than the contact Fyfe made ... Yet at the same time, Fyfe could have avoided body contact so it was an iffy one.

I know it's meant to be a Red for a foul from the last defending player, but I reckon a Yellow would have been the "reasonable" option.

Fyfe's body language gave the decision away too btw, I reckon he knew he was gone and was sheepish toward the ref instead of trying to bully him.

can't disagree with too much there common sense probably says yellow, letter of the law probably equals red.

Thanks for the info....as i said previously i know nothing about the game really...but i guess its not unlike a full back scragging the full forward and giving away free kick in the goal square ... just without getting sent off as a consequence.
